The first time I held Megumi in my arms, all I could think of was Rin. I was in love with Rin for a very long time even if I knew that she loved Kakashi. I was so jealous of Kakashi for having a perfect life with this woman even if he failed to protect Rin.

I had to do it to be able to make her submit to me when the time comes that I have to program her brain.

Of course, Orochimaru helped me with this. He pretty much enjoyed experimenting on a Yuki prodigy. He wanted to make her his vessel at some point, but of course, I'd never let that happen.

Going back to the plan, I have told Danzo that I knew that he will kill Megumi once she stepped out of the Foundation. She is just too powerful for Konoha and it is risky to keep her alive. That's when I made a deal with him.

I told him that I am willing to give Mitsuki's son Megumi's eyes. In that case, Megumi's ice release will be much less powerful, and he will be able to use Mitsuki's son in the future in the Foundation. He accepted my deal with him and I was able to do my plan smoothly.

Right now, she knows that Danzo intends to kill her, and how he wiped out her clan just because they were too strong and a threat to Konoha. However, I erased memories of her relationship with Kakashi and some other unnecessary ones, like her being pregnant, her childhood with Minato, Itachi, and Shisui.It was a long process but me and Orochimaru was able to do it.

I replaced all her sweet memories of Kakashi with mine. She knows me as Tobi and not Obito. I had to erase that from her memories as well.

"Tobi? What's wrong?"

I let go of her, took off my mask, and looked at her in the eyes.

"I'm sorry, I'm just happy that you are here."

She cupped my face with her hand, the side with the scar, and smiled.

"You don't have to be sorry."
