*3 months later*

*Megumi's POV*

There was a knock on the door and when I walked towards it, my foot tripped on one of the table's leg, making my body fall to the ground. I hit my forehead into to the ground and tried to get up.

I heard the door open and the person immediately helped me to stand. I cupped the person's face into my hands, felt his mask on, and was able to tell the color of his hair - white.

Kakashi.

85% of my eyesight has turned dark. It's hard for me to tell the difference of day and night by just looking at the window, and I have to walk very slow or I'll surely trip... Just like what happened.

"Your head is bleeding. Let me clean it and put on a plaster." Kakashi said as he helped me sit on the couch of my living room.

The feeling of the medicine on my open wound stings but I didn't complain. I let Kakashi clean my wound in peace.

Kakashi has been visiting me at my apartment whenever he is not on a mission. I'm glad that I get to see him... or feel his presence around but I also feel bad for being a burden.

"It's all done." He said softly.

"Thank you... Do you want something to drink?" I asked.

"No thanks. We need to go anyway. You have a doctor's appointment."

I didn't realize that it's already day time. I actually was not able to sleep last night because of my severe headache.

"Megumi, you have a week left before you totally lose your eyesight. I'm so sorry." The doctor said in a sad tone.

"I see. Thank you." I said plainly. I stood up from my chair, walked towards the door and left the room running.

I halted when my body hit something hard... I felt arms gently surround me. This smell... I must have hit Kakashi's chest.

"I have a week left." I said and looked up at Kakashi. I cupped his face into my hands and tried my best to see a good look but I just can't. I felt my entire body shake as tears started to fall from my eyes.

He cupped my face in his hand and wiped away my tears.

"You will be fine. I will never leave you this time. I promise." He whispered to me and kissed my forehead.

"I don't want to become a burden to anyone." I said in between the sobs.

"You are not a burden to me." Kakashi said with a smile.

*3 days later*

*Writer's POV*

"Megumi's eyesight is almost gone. You're losing another powerful shinobi." The orange-masked man told Danzo as he continued to close his eyes.

"She has been useful in a lot of missions. Everything has an end." Danzo said in a flat tone.

"I can fix her eyes." The mysterious man said.

There was a moment of silence before Danzo's eyes opened and met the man's gaze through the single hole of his mask.

"What do you want in return?" Danzo's eyebrows furrowed.

"I will let you use her for another 5 years. After that, she will be mine." The man said in a flat tone.

"Deal." Danzo said and the man slowly disappeared into the single hole of the orange mask.

*Megumi's POV*

I can see Kakashi's shadow in front of me. My sight has 5% of light left.

"I have to go for another mission. Will you be fine, Megumi?" He held my hands and kissed them.

"Don't worry, I will be." I smiled at him weakly. He kissed my forehead and left.

A few minutes later, I heard the door open and felt someone sat beside me.

"Kakashi?"

I turned my body towards the person and tried to feel his face and I realized that he doesn't have one.

He is wearing a mask.

The person held both of my hands in a tight grip and said "Megumi... You will be mine." It's a man's voice. Before I could say anything, I saw a Sharingan staring at me. Before I could utter a word, I felt myself falling into a deep sleep.

*Kakashi's POV*

When I reached Megumi's apartment, I saw her lying on the floor. I took a good look at her face and body. She didn't have any injuries. I carried her to the bed and waited for her to gain consciousness.

At the middle of the night, I came to check on her. I touched her forehead and she seemed to be having a slight fever. I immediately gave her a sponge bath.

A few minutes later, she woke up, looked at the ceiling and looked straight to my gaze. Her pupils are back in their normal dark blue color.

Her eyes grew wide, tried to blink a couple of times and scratched them with her hands.

"Kakashi, I can see now." She said, surprised.

We went to the doctor the next morning and even the doctor could not explain what happened.

"Wow. This is a miracle. I have been a doctor for 20 years but I have never seen anything like this.... She still needs to be under observation." She said smiling and added, "I will be informing the Hokage and the council."

When we left the doctor's room, Megumi stayed silent as we walked through the streets of Konoha.

"Don't you find it weird? Do you think someone did this to me?" She looked at me in the eyes.

"We are not sure about that, Megu... I guess what's important now is that you are healed." I looked at her with my eyes smiling.

I held her hand, continued to walk and said, "I'm so sorry for the things that I have said in the past. I was jealous and immature... I shouldn't have let my emotions control me. I regret those years of not being with you."

Megumi stopped walking, making me look at her gaze, and said, "It's all in the past now, Kakashi... There's nothing we can do to change it. You are forgiven." She said with a smile.

I smiled back and pulled her in a hug.

When we let go of the hug, we saw 2 anbus in front of us.

"The Hokage and Lord Danzo are expecting both of you. Please report to them right now."
