*Kakashi's POV*

I went straight back home after finishing my mission for the day. Megumi moved into my apartment 2 days ago and since then, I have always been excited to see her face when I open the door.

Unfortunately, today is not one of those days. It's already dark and she is not home yet. I went to the cemetery, dango shop, bakery, but still no luck of her presence.

I was on my way back home when a familiar voice spoke.

"Kakashi senpai, Megumi senpai is at the hospital. She's badly injured during our sparring this afternoon with Shisui. We apologize for making you worry and for not informing you ahead of time." Itachi said, bowing his head to apologize.

When I arrived at the hospital, I saw Megumi's left leg in bandages and she is looking at the ceiling with a blank stare. Shisui went to my side and spoke,

"Kakashi senpai, something's wrong with Megumi senpai. We were sparring like how we usually do. I threw hundreds of kunais at her and was able to dodge all of them but when I activated my Sharingan, she caught my gaze and immediately went blank, causing one of Itachi's shuriken hit her thigh pretty bad. We are very sorry, Kakashi senpai. We shouldn't have let her train with us, knowing that she have just recovered..." Shisui said with worry in his eyes and bowed.

I have told Shisui that there was nothing to worry about, as it was not their fault and nobody wanted this to happen. However, seeing her in this state makes me worried.

When I was left in the room with Megumi, I went to look into her eyes with my Sharingan. Like a light switch, her gaze returned back to normal and looked at me in confusion.

"Kakashi? What are you—? How am I in the hospital again??" She asked as I put down my headband to cover my Sharingan eye.

"You were injured in a sparring with Shisui and Itachi." I said with a smile.

"What do you mean? I do not recall being injured..." She said and stared down to her hands.

I explained to her what happened. She seemed in shock and took some time to think.

"Looks like I'm not invisible to genjutsu now, huh?" She said with a sad smile and added, "Kakashi, I need to know who healed these eyes." She looked at me with assertiveness.

*next day*

Megumi have asked me to bring her to the training grounds to spar with her. She was still limping because of her injured leg but she was very motivated.

"Kakashi, I want you to use your Sharingan on me" It was an order from her.

As I lifted up my headband to show my Sharingan eye, she immediately activated her ice release.

After a few hours of sparring, all of her ninjutsu seemed to work. She avoided to look at my Sharingan the entire time and it affected her a lot as she needed time to think about my next step.

I noticed that her chakra levels are low so I battled her with taijutsu, her weakest point. During the fight, I accidentally kicked onto her injured leg, making her drop on the floor and wince in pain.

I saw a patch of blood started to grow on her bandages as she looked at me and said, "I'm not finished yet."

She bit her thumb and used a summoning jutsu.

Emiko showed up with a very fierce growl and quickly attacked towards me. I dodged all her attacks and it made her more angry.

She turned into a huge ice dragon and attacked me with hundreds of ice balls full of chakra. One of them hit me through the stomach. I flew and hit my back in one of the huge trees.

"EMIKO!! ENOUGH! STOP IT! YOU ARE GOING TO KILL HIM" I heard Megumi yelled from afar but Emiko ignored her cries.

I am unable to stand and Emiko just wouldn't stop. She was going to attack me again, this time to finish me for good. Megumi appeared in front of me and used all her chakra, channeling them in her hands and made a huge push against Emiko. She made an icy cold strong wind and it made Emiko stumble down and return back to her normal form.

Emiko is now unconscious and disappeared through the smoke. I shifted my gaze to Megumi who is now on all fours and coughing up blood on the floor.

*Megumi's POV*

Blood wouldn't stop coming out of my mouth and nose. It's all over my hands now.

"Megumi..." I heard Kakashi's voice behind me. It was as soft as a whisper.

I crawled towards him and checked his tummy. He has a huge bruise and he is out of chakra. I felt tears form in my eyes and said,

"I'm so sorry, Kakashi... I didn't mean to... I couldn't control her." I kept sobbing as he held my face in his hands and lost consciousness.

I carried Kakashi on my back and returned to our apartment. I laid him down on the bed and took off his shirt. He did not seem to have any other injuries aside from the bruise... He should be fine and regain all his chakra after he's able to rest properly.

I gave him a sponge bath, covered his tummy in bandages, and covered him with a blanket.

I looked at his face until I fell into a deep sleep...

*Kakashi's POV*

It was already morning when I woke up. I looked into my left and saw Megumi asleep on the floor hugging her legs into her chest with her face on her knees.

She is still wearing the clothes that she was wearing during the sparring. She must have taken care of me the whole night.

I tried to sit up and rest my back against the bed frame but the pain in my stomach made it difficult. I groaned in pain and when I was already in the position, I saw Megumi staring at me with worried eyes. She haven't even wiped all the blood in her face. She totally neglected herself...

"Kakashi..." She whispered and started to sob.

"Now now, you wouldn't want me to be worried in this state, yes?" I asked with a smile on my face.

She nodded and stood up.

"I have prepared some vegetable soup for you..." She said weakly and limped her way to the kitchen.

When she returned, she sat on the bed and fed me with the soup.

"I can eat on my own, Megumi. What if you have a good shower and then we rest here together?" I asked with a smile.

She nodded and went to the bathroom. A few minutes later, she looked at me, still worried, and collected all the dishes and washed them in the kitchen.

When she came back, she sat on the bed and held my hand.

"I'm sorry, Kakashi... I didn't mean to hurt you." She said as she continued to look at my hand in hers.

"It's not your fault, Megu... You did not know... Now, if you really want to make me feel better, why don't you lay here with me?" I asked and she smiled weakly.

I placed her head on my chest, held her hand in mine, and stroke her hair until she fell asleep.
