Chapter 35

*Writer's POV*

Kakashi spent 2 hours looking for Megumi around the village. When he was about to go to the Hokage's office to report about Megumi's disappearance, he saw Guy helping a pregnant woman with a bandage on her head.

It's his wife.

He immediately teleported in front of them.

"Megumi, are you alright??" Kakashi said, holding Megumi's shoulders.

"Kakashi, calm down. Your wife just got out of the hospital. She needs to get home now and rest." Guy said.

"Let me bring her home, Guy. Thank you for your help." Kakashi carried Megumi in his arms. She still wasn't speaking about anything.

When they reached home, Kakashi guided Megumi to the bed to sit. She was limping and he was able to tell from her face that she is in pain.

"Let me know if you need anything..." Kakashi said with worried eyes. Megumi looked at him and started to speak.

"I fell down from the bed and hit my head... I was having a terrible nightmare again. The doctor said that our twins are okay but I had 7 stitches on my forehead... Guy said he could hear my screams outside, that's why he rushed here and found me on the floor... I'm sorry for making you worry..."

"You don't have to be sorry. I'm your husband. Of course I'll be worried. Anyway, please rest now. Let me know if you need anything, okay? I'll be off duty tomorrow so I can take care of you."

Megumi nodded and closed her eyes to sleep.

*Megumi's POV*

I woke up with a throbbing headache and a bit surprised that Kakashi was not home. He must have went to the market to buy some food.

A few minutes later, I heard a knock on the door. I stood up as fast as I can and opened it. Someone with an orange mask is standing opposite me. I have seen him before.

"Who-"

*Writer's POV*

Before Megumi could finish her sentence, she was already under the masked man's genjutsu. Her eyes grew bigger and tears started to flow down her cheeks.

"Remember the deal. Once this is finished, you'll hand me her eyes." Mitsuki spoke behind the masked man.

"Just shut the fuck up. You forgot to inform me that she is pregnant. It doesn't matter now, her child won't be able to make it. This genjutsu is too strong for it to survive." 

"Tobi, isn't that what you want? To slay Kakashi's children along the process? They are twins by the way"

The masked man did not answer and continued to change and erase Megumi's memories. She fell on her knees, mouth slightly open, and it looked like her soul was being sucked out of her. When the entire process was over, her face turned blank. Blood started to flood on the floor. When Tobi noticed it, he quickly took out Megumi's eyes out of their sockets and put them in a container with some liquid chemical, and handed it to Mistuki.

"She is mine now." Tobi said in a low voice.

"Will she survive? She lost quite a lot of blood." Mitsuki smirked.

"She is nothing to you whether she survives or not, so why ask?"

Tobi looked at Mitsuki with his Sharingan eye and carried Megumi in his arms. Both of them got lost in a twisting pattern.

*Kakashi's POV*

The 3rd Hokage called all jonins, including me, early in the morning to inform that there has been a suspicious man lurking around the village. He asked us to stay vigilant of our surroundings.

After the meeting, I went to the bakeshop to buy a strawberry cheesecake for my wife. She has been craving for this almost everyday. On my way out of the shop, I heard some footsteps approaching me. It was Mitsuki.

"Kakashi!!!" He said with tears in his eyes.

"It's my sister! My sister's gone..."

*Mitsuki's POV*

It was hard for me to cry in front of Kakashi, while in fact, I felt very happy that my sister is finally gone. Her eyes will be my son's from now on, and they will make him stronger. My son was not born with ice release but with Megumi's eyes and Orochimaru and Danzo's help, it will now be possible.

"What do you mean gone, Mitsuki?"

"I found blood in your house when I visited this morning... But I couldn't find her body. It was a huge amount of blood! I do not think she will be able to survive that." I said as I pretended to fall on my knees and hid my face in my palms.

When I lifted my face from my hands, Kakashi was already gone.

*2 months later*

*Megumi's POV*

I woke up with a massive headache. It feels like deja vu but I cannot actually remember a single thing. I sat up and opened my eyes but I realized that they were in bandages. I felt someone hold my hand.

"You need more time to rest." A familiar voice spoke.

"Tobi?" He squeezed my hand tighter.

"What happened? Where am I?"

"You are safe. You had some injuries from your last mission. You have been asleep for 2 months. Let me take out your bandages now."

Tobi slowly took out my bandages. When I opened my eyes, I felt something different. Something new.

Everything was red.
