The night was dark. The undercurrent beneath the sea was turbulent.

The small white ship began to turn back.

After coming out from the confinement room, 021 didn't try to talk to You Huo again.

You Huo sighed internally, but still, gave 021 an appreciative nod.

She was already going against the System at his behest, and much like 154, would probably have a much harder time just trying to hide this from the System, given that after his expulsion and losing the ability to trust even its Head Invigilators, the System must have had a meltdown, and started screening its invigilators far more harshly to ensure that they wouldn't "betray" it...

That just made 154's ability to hide for three years all the more impressive... if not, a little concerning for his future self's health.

At least, 021 was still a human, and as long as she didn't set off any red flags, the System wouldn't be able to interfere with her. And being a reserve invigilator, the System would also naturally "trust" her more.

But for 154... one small misstep could cause the System to just... erase him from existence.

How stressful must it be, to have to hide from this omnipresence System, working under a boss that would probably hate his guts just for being a part of the System, filled with guilt as more and more people died under the exams he invigilated...

He glanced at 154, who was currently talking to Wen Yuan about something, only for the taller man to grin and ruffle his hair.

You Huo's heart softened. At least... he seemed to be doing alright in here.

Everything was like how it was when they first boarded the ship.

This Miss Decisive walked through the cabin wearing her big sunglasses paying no heed to the others. Whenever she had the opportunity, she would lash out at 078.

078 didn't know what he did wrong.

But given this lady's usual temper, he didn't think too much into it.

078 pouted childishly at 021, who just rolled her eyes back good naturedly.

He knew why she was upset... and he also knew that the current her knew that her future self was being a little unreasonable.

He also made a mental note to look for her later during the next break. They seemed to get along so far, knowing that their future selves were working together, but 078 would also like to get to know the current 021.

Hmm... maybe he should grab 154 and Wen Yuan too. They weren't reserve invigilators, but since they would all be working together in the future... well, making new friends didn't hurt anyone.

There were only some very occasional moments when she would quietly look though her sunglasses at You Huo without anyone else noticing.

She wanted to know whether You Huo heard what she said in the confinement room earlier.

But judging from how he was acting, he appeared to have no reaction.

021 sighed internally.

Well... she wasn't too sure if You Huo had even heard her in the first place, or he had just been woken up by her poking...

But even if he had heard her, she understood why he couldn't outwardly show it. The System may not be able to monitor the confinement rooms... but it definitely would be suspicious if You Huo exited the confinement room and started acting oddly.
