Perhaps he was being retaliated against for angering the System or perhaps it was because Qin Jiu himself wasn't very lucky either...

Everyone in the room practically snorted.

It was obvious that Qin Jiu didn't have good luck, and yet, he was trying to pin this on the System?

Also, even if he had angered the System (which he definitely had done), he was currently an examinee, which meant that the System couldn't directly retaliate against him anyway; at least, not until he returned to his post of being the Head Invigilator.

Though, 154 couldn't help but think, even if the System couldn't "curse" Qin Jiu directly, it probably could still rig the casino games... if it wasn't against the rules, that is...

The fact that the System was likely to be capable of that in the first place... that was already scary in itself, let alone whether it was against the rules or not.

For the first game, the dealer lifted the cup:

Even.

Qin Jiu clicked his tongue in mild annoyance, but he wasn't that upset about it; after all, even if they won right now, they might lose the last game, and that was when things really counted.

Losing in the first game... it wasn't that bad; he should use this opportunity to get all of his bad luck out of the way.

And it seemed like You Huo shared his sentiments, from the way they shared a glance of mutual understanding.

"Lucky" You Huo's expression instantly cleared up.

He was conflicted between feeling proud of his luck or beating Qin Jiu up.

Several moderates snorted.

Of course You Huo would be proud that his luck had trumped Qin Jiu's... but at the cost of the first game; though, it was far more likely for them to lose first and then win later, since their luck had a tendency to turn things around for their benefit in literally the last minute.

"My most heartfelt congratulations." Qin Jiu smiled cheerily, sticking out his hand like they were competitors in a sports event, "Looks like you won first, darling."

You Huo rolled his eyes.

Heartfelt, your ass.

As long as it wasn't the last game, no one really gave a shit about the outcome of these games.

The onlookers thumped their chests and stamped their feet as if they were the ones who had just lost their Guaranteed Pass.

Everyone understood how all those examinee onlookers in the future felt.

If they weren't already aware of how overpowered You Huo and Qin Jiu were, and the kind of luck they had... they'd be reacting the same way.

And despite already being aware of all that, they still felt severely hurt watching the two demon kings losing their "Guaranteed Pass" card right off the bat.

"Crazy. They're definitely crazy."

Several people were inclined to agree with them.

Wagering a "Guaranteed Pass" for "Good Student" cards...

Plus, anyone definitely had to have a few screws loose in order to even think about going up against the System... let alone actually coming up with a plan that could work against the System, and somehow managing to successfully plot against it despite all that scrutiny placed on You Huo, right behind the System's back.
