It will be better in the morning, they said.

Chu Yue let everyone wallow in silence for about five seconds before she stood up, and clapped, "Alright, it's been a long day, no? We probably should have ended this earlier..."

From the expression on everyone's faces... it was obvious that even if they did, the sheer horror from this abhorrent examination center, with all the blood, corpses, chopped up limbs, the rotting flesh... none of it would have helped with their appetite, and leaving any unresolved threads hanging would just result in them going to bed and suffering from nightmares.

Not that they wouldn't have nightmares, anyways, even after everything had been resolved; this had been an absolutely terrifying ordeal to go through, and they were only just watching it all play out.

Imagine actually participating in that exam.

They'd die, for real... though it was probably more likely that they'd die before even reaching their third examination.

Though... Chu Yue wasn't sure if ending off with You Huo and Qin Jiu traumatizing the three future invigilators in a different way than usual was any better...

"At least the exam's over." Chu Yue shrugged to herself, and pointed towards the door, "Go grab some food and get some rest. Shoo, shoo!"

It took some time, but eventually, after someone finally took the initiative to get up and exit the room, everyone followed suit, and it wasn't long before it was just the invigilators, Shu Xue and 078, who was waiting on their friends... and 154, Wen Yuan, and 021, who looked like their souls had long since ascended to heaven.

"I think you killed them." One of the hardliners spoke up, before snickering, "I'm sure the System regrets its insistence on everyone following the rules... because GIN literally has to follow A through the next few exams, regardless if only he is punished or not."

Several other invigilators even some of the moderates, also started chuckling.

Fuck the System, it had literally brought this upon itself.

It was fucking deserved.

154 and Wen Yuan stared back blankly, but the attention seemed to be more than enough for 021 to regain her composure, and gently yanked on the shirt collars of the baby invigilators, "Come on, you two. Stop moping around. Tomorrow's another day..."

... Of having to deal with these two demon kings, went unsaid.

Wen Yuan groaned pitifully, but 154 still seemed a little stunned and out of it.

Because he was starting to realize that they just might have a tiny issue when it came to punishing You Huo and Qin Jiu...

After all, hadn't they been caught while completing an examination?

Why was Qin Jiu doing an examination in the first place?

Because he was currently an examinee.

The System only had issues with invigilators and examinees getting together.

So if You Huo was an examinee, and Qin Jiu was also an "examinee"... there was no invigilator in the equation, not technically.

...

154 had no idea which of Qin Jiu's current statuses currently took priority, but regardless if being an "invigilator" or an "examinee" took priority... the System was going to throw a hissy fit.

He couldn't help but think that the System was some kind of a masochist.

It knew the likely outcome of messing with these two, but noooo, it had to be a pissy asshole that "prioritized the rules", knowing fully well that these two were more than capable than breaking them.
