Viryn and Merq'ena returned to the tent with tired faces. But Merq'ena noticed a small tail barely hiding behind a fold of the tent. The little tail shook slightly as a small giggle barely hid itself from the large piece of tan fabric. Merq'ena arched a brow and smiled at Viryn who seemed to be in her own head. She saw that the tail slowly disappear and a small pair of feet sneak. The taller girl pretended to look away as she heard the sudden pattering of feet approach her. "Ahh!" Merq'ena dropped her jaw as if she was startled from the "attack".Little Vinat giggled and clapped to herself pleased. "You scared me." Merq'ena lifted a not so little Vinat and rested her on her hip. "Good to see you little hunter." Vinat clung onto the older girl. "No hello?" Merq'ena laughed as she leaned the little girl back to meet her eyes. "I heard someone died." Viryn quickly shook her head. "No one died Vinat. Everyone's ok." She paused at the implication of Vinat only running to Merq'ena. "Wait did you only-." "They're back!" A small group of children ran out of a tent and ran towards them. They were were now beginning to grow above the baby stages which meant when they launched themselves at the two teens they truly crushed them. Beyt giggled at the way Viryn groaned with them on top of her. "Guys, off." She smiled and sat up.
"You won right?" "I'm hungry." "Aunt Syl'kun said that I could go down to the jungle." Merq'ena lifted her eye gear away from her face so that it was more of a headband. "There was no winning, it wasn't a battle." She stood up and had the children clutch her shins. "There is food we left you." Ji'qra stuck out his tongue at that. "You need to eat your insects." Merq'ena tickled his ear. "Come on. Thank Aunt Syl'kun." The little children bowed their heads at the older woman who sat in a larger tent where they had been staying previously.
They soon returned their attention back to their guardians as they tried to chase after the two older girls. "Go, don't pull on her hair Li'pel!" Viryn hissed as they hurried to their tents. "So, jungle?" Ji'qra asked. He was the closest to their age but was still a lot younger. "What are you planning on doing?" Merq'ena arched a brow as she set Vinat loose after the other children. "Just, hanging out." The boy shrugged. "By doing what? You know you have to be careful." Viryn hung her bow on a hook outside of her tent. "It's nothing, just. Guy stuff." The girls exchanged a look. "We can't let you go unless you tell us what you're going." Merq'ena brushed her hair with her fingers.
"Fishing." "With who?" Ji'qra smiled a grin that looked more like a scowl than anything. Some of his teeth were growing which helped make them think he was younger than he actually was. "The older boys?" Viryn leaned against the door way, her tail swinging behind her. "Alone?" Merq'ena crossed her arms. "It's just fishing. I'll even bring the biggest ones back." The boy interlocked his hands and held them towards his guardians liked he was begging. "It's never just fishing. It's dangerous Ji'qra, what if you run into trouble?" Merq'ena held the boy's face.
The ears on the sides of head looking too big for his head as most ears did on kids his age. "The Sky People haven't come this far-." "Not the Sky People maybe but what about thanators, viper wolves, a titanthere." Viryn pointed at her fingers to name off the creatures. "The jungle is dangerous, and I don't trust your company to keep you safe." Ji'qra groaned and pulled his face away from Merq'ena's hands. "Then trust me. I went down with you guys all the time."
His little braided hair swooped to show the shaved sides of his hairstyle. "That's with us, we know you'll be safe. But we aren't sure how you'll do out there by yourself." Merq'ena licked her lips and leaned back from him. "Their parents let them go." He said exasperated. Viryn sighed and looked to Merq'ena. "Please? I'll be good, I'll be back by sunset." Merq'ena's right ear twitched. Ji'qra looked desperately at the two trying to send them his desperation to their minds. "They're my friends. I want to go down with them." Merq'ena sighed. "Before sunset." She said. "Dusk?" "Before sunset, keep pushing and I'll think about when the sky stops being blue."
