Part 39 - I Hate You!

"May I drop you somewhere... Ms. Khurana?"

"You won't get any conveyance at this hour. Come, I'll drop you". He said looking straight at her. His eyes were red and swollen as if he didn't sleep the entire night. She returned her gaze to him and could see how hurt he looked.

Chaahe kuch na kehna
Bhale chup tu rehna
Mujhe hai pata, tere pyar ka
Khamosh chehra, ankhon pe pehra
Khud hai gawaah, tere pyar ka

She immediately turned her head to the other side as she failed to take his intense gaze upon her. Having left with no choice, she had to give in. She slowly stepped on his bike and they drove off.

Teri jhuki nazar, teri har ada

Neither of them spoke a word. He kept on looking at her from the rear view mirror of his bike while her hair was flowing in the air. A small smile appeared on his face as he adored her physical beauty. She noticed him looking at her every now and then and consciously adjusted her hair.

A child came in the middle of the road all of a sudden and Neil had to pull the brakes which lead to their imbalance and she stumbled upon him.

Neil: I'm sorry Mini. Woh baccha achanak saamne aa gaya..

Mini: No, it's okay. You don't need to apologise.

Neil: Tum theek ho naa?

She, for once, got alert with his concerning voice which made her emotional but soon calmed herself.

Mini: H..haan main.. I.. I am fine.

They soon reached and Mini got off the bike. They just looked at each other for a couple of minutes without uttering a word. Their eyes were filled up with tears and before those tears could roll down their faces, Mini turned around and walked towards the school. As she reached the gate, she turned to look at him again but he had already left. A tear escaped her eye.

Mini's POV:

I couldn't resist. I just couldn't say no when he offered me the lift. I didn't have any made up reason to deny him. And then, when I sat behind him, an altogether different feeling gropped me from within. His intense gaze continuously staring at me, making me conscious yet a lovable feeling engulfed. Why is he still affecting me? Why does he look at me in the most purest way that nobody else could? His teary eyes were stored with numerous unspoken feelings. There was a complete silence between us when he dropped me in front of the school, yet it was all chaotic. I so wanted to talk to him, ask him, fight with him but words couldn't support my thoughts. Before my tears could roll down my face, I left. I walked upto the school gate and turned to look at him once again but he had already gone too far.

Neil's POV:

She looked hurt and I just couldn't do anything other than to adore her innocence when she was sitting behind me. Her hair flowing in the air and ruffling with my beard had engulfed me in a different feeling. I just couldn't take my eyes off her. She looked beautiful, innocent and so pure, but quite hurt. Her eyes were never so void. Those orbs have lost their old charm. And I am the reason behind it, makes me feel so infuriated of myself! I wish I can ever bring back her old self. I wish to see her smiling her heart out just the way she is.
