Part 49 - Love that doesn't bind

Feeling contented from within, they slept in each other's embrace.

Their sleep got disturbed almost during the daybreak, due to uncomfortable postures. They woke up and couldn't sleep again.

Mini: Time kya ho raha hai?

Neil: 4 bajne wale hai.

Mini: Ab so kar bhi kya fayda!

Neil: Haan. Ab toh neend bhi nahi aa rahi... Umm.. a quick morning walk?

Mini: Great idea! Par.. tumhara paer..

Neil: Arre, theek hai ab. Let's go.

They got ready in the next ten minutes and left for an early walk. As they took a turn from their street, they noticed that the otherwise hustle bustle of the road was now quite peaceful. The first light of the day still had to appear in the sky. The shops were shut. The road was a little wet due to the rain that occurred at night. A few cars were moving smoothly on the road. They noticed every nitty-gritty detail about the environment around them. Walking hand-in-hand, they were feeling the silence between them and enjoying the beauty of the early morning.

Walking down the lane with a peaceful smile on their faces, they didn't realise when the reached a point from where could witness a beautiful sunrise. The rising sun cast a rosy hue across the morning sky. Golden fingers of sunlight lit up the scene. At first, there appeared a small ball of light in the sky and then went on increasing in size and shine. The sun appeared on the horizon and it seemed as if the sun and the sky were at the same level. Birds were chirping to the sun's shine. Mini looked at it with gleam in her eyes. Her lips curled up into a pretty smile. She was mesmerized by the breathtaking view whereas Neil smiled adoring his own sight.

Mini: Kitna sunder hai yeh!

Neil: (still looking at her) Bahut.

She felt his gaze upon her and turned at him with the same smile on her lips. He came close to her and held her hand. They looked straight into each other's eyes, finding solace in them.

Neil: Mini, agar aaj main kuch aur bhi mangu.. toh do gi?

Mini: Kya... kya chahiye tumhe?

Their faces were inches apart. They were completely lost in the depth of each other's orbs, oblivious to the rest of the awakened world. Her breath became uneven when he asked her huskily. Neil wished to wait but at the same time couldn't hold up his emotions and feelings for her he had. Mini was still searching for the answers she needed in his eyes when...

Neil: Mini, that night when I met with an accident. Though it was not a major one but I feared of something.. I was afraid of losing the people around me. Ritwik didn't tell you but I.. I would not have survived if that car would not have come in between me and that truck.

Mini's eyes were already wet and when she comprehended his latter words, those tears became her fear and rolled down her cheeks. Her hand stimulated to hit his chest the moment she heard those words.

Neil: ... Then I realised, life is too short to keep things to ourselves. We should tell the other person what we feel, not fearing about the consequences. Because.. we never know if that chance would ever come back to us, if we would be able to meet that person again in our lives!.. we just don't know! Life is so unpredictable!! And that's why I .. I don't want to lose you, Mini. I've found my lost family in you. Your smiling face resonate my blue days. Arya's innocence reminds me of my deceased sister. Aunty has that warmth, that affection due to which I hardly feel lonely, that I'm away from my own mother.. I feel as if I've found my everything in YOU!! You, Arya and Aunty.. you all were there for me when I was lost.. I don't know to explain this to you but you have become an irreplaceable part of me. I've started feeling an emotion, towards you that people call love!

Mini was looking straight into his eyes without blinking her own. Tears never left her eyes while he was confessing his feelings for her. And when he was done, she slowly closed her eyes with a composed smile, and tears cascaded down her blushed face. He cupped her face and wiped her tears off her pink cheeks with his thumbs. She leaned on to his touch. He smiled looking at the effect she had of him. She opened her eyes. She had that charm and gleam in her deep brown orbs, and a satisfaction in her heart of hearing it from him.

For sometime, she kept on wondering how effortlessly he poured out his feelings for her which she has been waiting to hear since ages! Her lips curled up into a proper smile as she looked up at him, and the only words that came out of her mouth with a chuckle were, "Idiot", she said with a contented heart and hid herself into his arms. He smiled wholeheartedly, hugging her tight as if she would disappear somewhere if he left her loose.

They, slowly yet unwilling part and meet each other's eyes once again. Their faces had a different charm and their hearts sang altogether a different melody. Neil cupped her cheek with one of his hands, looking straight into her eyes but the very next moment something struck his mind and he removed his hand from her face. His brow crinkled up as if he was upset of something..

Mini: Kya hua?

Neil: Ms. Khurrana.. I just confessed my feelings in front of you and you called me an idiot!?

Mini smiled but that smile soon turned into a chuckle and she started laughing. "You're cute, Neil", she said in between her laughter. Leaning a little forward with her one hand on his cheek, she brought her lips near to his other cheek and gave a quick yet gentle kiss. Returning to her original position, she said, "You don't know what you mean to me, doc!.. You lit up my life like it's your own. You made me believe in love all over again, that too at my worst!! Main.. maine soch liya tha ki kabhi phir se pyaar nahin karungi.. kabhi kisi ke kareeb nahi jaungi... But when you came, it was then I realised, love isn't something we find, love is something that finds us. If this stupid emotion exists in this world, it exists for me only because of you.. you idiot!! Pyaar mein takleef hoti hai, yeh main janti thi par pyaar itna khoobsurat bhi ho sakta hai, iss baat ka ehsaas tumhare sath hua mujhe. I always felt an eternal connection with you, Neil Oberoi. Something that connects me with you effortlessly. I don't need to think twice before talking to you. I know you'll never judge me. I feel safe with you as I know you'll never hurt me, not even in your dreams. I've found my Home in you.

I feel so free with you. You never bound me with your care or love. Instead, you secured me with your warmth, your care and that unconditional love I always saw in your eyes for me. I knew it already, I could feel it but that night... I felt as if.. I.. I'm sorry. I didn't talk to you but trust me, I did so because I couldn't meet my eyes with yours!"

The stored tears in her eyes streamed down her cheeks. Neil immediately took her in his arms and rubbed her back, simultaneously kissing her hair.
