Part 57 - A danger ahead?

Arya looked at her with a swollen face but Mini didn't budge. The next moment, Mini's phone rang with a new incoming call.

It was Neil. Mini answered the call right away.

Neil: Mini, Mini, Mini!! I'm so happy today. Thank you so much for everything. It was a really well-run presentation!

Mini: I told you, right? Congratulations, doc! I'm so happy for you... Accha suno naa Neil, wapas kab aa rahe ho tum?

Neil: I'll return the day after tomorrow. Parso subah ki flight hai.. (Trying to make her jealous) Oh by the way, Mini... Umm, did I tell you that I was.. I mean, mujhe ek assistant di gayi hai yahan. And...

Mini: And?

Neil: And... She.. she's so good looking. Quite attractive.. wait, I'm sending you something.

He sent his picture with his assistant to Mini. The pictures looked attractive because of the girl's attire that ended till her knee. She was holding Neil's arm while he looked cautious. She checked it and smiled inwardly, and continued to talk. Sounding as normal as possible..

Mini: Is it? Thank you. Now you may enjoy with your assistant. Mujhe yahan bahot kaam hai so don't bother me now.

Arya looked at her skeptically, trying to listen to her.

Mini: Yeah.. I.. I'll call you back. It's okay. We can talk later.

Neil: Too smart! But not more than me. I won't hang up until you answer.

Mini: No problem. I can do that.

Neil: Please naa Mini. Bolo naa!!

Mini: Neil tum na kabhi kabhi baccho ki tarah zidd karte ho.

Neil: Please..

She couldn't figure out how to handle him so she pretends...

Mini: Erm.. haan.. aa rahi hoon maasi. (To Neil) Mujhe maasi bula rahi hain, Neil. Baad mein karte hain baat.

Neil: Jhuthi... Okay fine. Even I need to hang up now. Some formalities are left to be completed. So, I'll call you later at night.

Mini: Okay. Bye.

They hung up the call. Arya looked at her sister angrily.

Mini: Kya ho gaya?

Arya: Tumhe meri baat karwani thi Neil se. Aur khud baat karke phone cut kar diya. Aur yeh tum jhuth kyun bol rahi thi Neil ko ki maasi bula rahi hain? Maasi ne toh nahi bulaya. Woh toh yahan hai bhi nahi.

She complained and turned her head in the opposite direction.

Mini: Arre yaar.. woh thoda busy tha. Abhi phir se phone karega toh kar lena baat. Itni si baat par naraz thodi hote hain, chhutanki. Chalo, neeche chalte hain.
