Part 61 - Eternal peace

Next morning..

Mini and Neil were in his room having breakfast and discussing the matter. While Mini was continuously talking, Neil seemed lost in thoughts.

Mini: Neil, what happened?

Neil: Mujhe gussa aa raha hai, Mini. Ritwik par.. Tanya se toh mujhe pehle bhi koi umeed nahi thi par Ritwik ko dost mana tha maine. And how dare he hurt you!!

Mini: Mujhe toh us par pehle se hi doubt tha. Tumhe yaad hai jab tum vaccination camp ke liye school aaye the? Tab bhi woh aise dekh raha tha jisse koi bhi ladki uncomfortable ho jayegi.

Neil: What? Kab?

Mini: Jab tum usse car keys lene gaye the. Tumse pucha bhi tha maine ki woh car kiski thi. (Part 25) Tumhe bataya nahi kyunki main bas.. tumhe hurt nahi karna chahti thi aur shayad yahi mujhse galti ho gayi. Tum sach se hurt na ho jao, isliye tumhare aage se jhooth ke upar se parda hi nahi hataya. Sach toh yeh hai ki itne saalo se tum uske dost the, woh tumhara nahin. Log tumhari achhai ka faida uthate hain. Aur tumhe un logo mein bhi achhai nazar aati hai.

Neil: Matlab achhe logo ke sath hi bura hota hai?

Mini: Bura sirf waqt hota hai. Jo sabki life ka part hota hai. Aaj bura waqt hai, kal acha bhi hoga.

Neil smiled slightly at her with moist eyes, and gently held her hands.

Neil: Thank you Mini. Thank you so much for believing in me.

He brought her hands closer and placed a soft kiss on each of them.

Neil: I'm so proud of you. Tumne mere liye hi nahi, khud ke liye bhi stand liya. Parso se tum khud kitni tense hogi, is baat ka andaza hai mujhe but still you managed everything on your own.. You were right to slap him.

Mini smiled at him.

Mini: Acha Neil, tumhe kuch bhi yaad hai, kya hua tha? How did she end up in your room?

Neil: Mini.. theek se yaad nahi hai. Main apne room mein tha, rest kar raha tha when I heard a knock on the door..

Flashback

Looking lovingly at the gift he had bought it for Mini, he was daydreaming of surprising it to her, that he had forgotten to eat. Soon after, there was a knock on his door which broke his trance.

Neil peeped through the eye hole and immediately opened the door to room service with his dinner trolley.

Neil: Thank you.

The man greeted him with a smile and went out, leaving the door open. He pulled down the stopper of the door, leaving it ajar, while Neil turned and sat down to eat. As he sipped the juice, he found the taste to be a bit odd, but ignoring his own thoughts, he gulped down the glass of juice in a go. He felt weak and woozy after finishing his meal. As he moved the tram to a corner, he stumbled on his own feet and fell on the couch with his head in his hand.

The next day, when he woke up, he found himself on the bed beside Mallika while the room that was all set last night, now looked messy and untidy.

Neil: That's all I remember, Mini.

Mini: Tum agar sofe par behosh ho gaye the toh subah bed par kaise the?

Neil: I don't know.

Flashback

As soon as he stumbled and landed on the couch, he passed out. Mallika entered the room. She set up the room in order to make it messy. She had paid some petty amount to the waiter and this gave her the opportunity to enter the room easily.
