Part 55 - Neil is not in town

She chuckled at his words and pulled him into a bear hug. He too hugged her back. They both shut their eyes while their lips continued to smile.

They broke the hug and looked around. It was then they realised that they had come far away from everybody else. Holding each other's hands, they walked towards the area where others were celebrating Holi. Bobby saw them coming.

Bobby: Kahan chale gaye the tum dono? Aur.. yeh kya? Tumne Holi khel bhi li? Wah! Kafi progressive ho.

Mini smiled sheepishly. Neil gave him a stern look.

Bobby: Ab aise kyun dekh raha hai? Theek hi toh bol raha hoon. Dekho tum dono khud ko. Tumhe koi rang lagaye bhi toh kaise?

Neil: Chal bas kar yeh drame.

Bobby: Dekha tumne Mini? Itne saalo ki dosti ki koi value nahi hai iske liye. Yahi din dekhne ko reh gaya tha. Tujhe life partner mil gayi toh apne is partner ko bhul gaya. Chal koi nahi, par yeh mat bhulio ki Mini bhi tujhe meri wajah se hi mili hai.

Mini chuckled.

Neil: Kuch bhi? Kya.. logic kya hai iska?

Mini: Practically, he's right Neil. Ab dekho, tumhe ghar chahiye tha aur maasi ko kirayedar aur yeh baat tumhe kaise pata chali.. Bobby se hi naa?

Bobby: Exactly! Being my point. Thank you for the acknowledgement Mini. Isko bhi kuch samjha do.

She smiled at Bobby and then turned to look at Neil.

Mini: Samjhe kuch??

Neil: Yes ma'am! Chalein ab? Arya's waiting..

Bobby: Abey aise kaise chale jayega tu..

He took a plate full of colours and deliberately put it on his head. Neil looked annoyed. Bobby ran from there and he chased behind him. Mini laughed looking at their banter.

They reached home and found Arya waiting for them.

Arya: Tum dono phir se mujhe bhool gaye na?

Neil: Arre aapko koi kaise bhool sakta hai?

Arya: Aur kya? Mujhe lekar bhi nahin gaye. Akele akele Holi khel li. Main tum dono se baat nahi karungi.

Mini: Yeh dekho. Shuru ho gaya iska drama.

Neil took a handful of colours that were kept near him and smudged Arya's face with it. He happily took her in his arms and kissed her on the top of her head. Mini too joined them and coloured her with Holi colours. They kissed her either cheeks while Arya smiled timidly.

Mini: Chhutanki, always remember one thing, no matter what, we can never forget you. Okay?

She just smiled at her.

Neil: Exactly! You are the reason for our happiness.

Arya: Thank you! I love you both ❤️

Mini/Neil: We love you more!

Neil's phone rang and he excused himself to attend the call while the girls chatted for some time. He came back to them after declining the call.

Neil: Mini..

Mini: Haan?

Neil: Hospital se phone tha. All India Medical Conference hai Bangalore mein. My hospital has recommended my name. I will have to go there for 3-4 days.

Mini: Wow Neil! That's really great. Yeh toh achi baat hai. Tum itna depress kyun sound kar rahe ho?

Neil: Haan. Achi baat toh hai.. bas..
