Scarlett's POV:
Going to work the morning that Y/n left was horrible. Ava and I were both in tears as we said a long goodbye at the front door. Y/n kept reassuring us that the time would fly by and that we had so many things to be excited for over the next few weeks. I had to take a minute before driving off as my eyes were clouded with tears. The whole way to set I could hear sniffles coming from the back as Ava let her emotions flow.
When we got to set, everyone was amazing and really supportive of us. Robert wasn't due on set today, but he had specifically come in to see the two of us. I never thought I would say that I was relieved to see Robert and to get a hug from him. I could tell he had shed a few tears himself as his eyes were slightly red. Lizzie was also staying close today and was giving Ava lots of attention through hugs and cuddles. Something that I knew Ava was very appreciative for.
In fact, everyone on set was being amazing with Ava. They didn't let her have a moment to dwell on the fact we had said goodbye to her mom this morning. By lunch time, she was back to being her bubbly self, playing around with Seb and Tom. I can't say the same for me, however. Y/n's absence was more noticeable than ever.
__________
We only had two weeks left of filming and they all went really well. It was a strange end to this part of filming as we're starting work quite quickly on the next movie. It means that we didn't do the usual end of filming party as we were all going to be seeing each other for the kick off meeting in four weeks for Endgame. It's like we were all going on a long holiday instead of finishing the movie.
Before we head back to LA for Ava to start back at school, I've booked us a few days in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I thought it would be nice for the two of us to have a little break before we get back to the chaos that will be the new school year and Ava's birthday. Ava's really excited to be going as it'll be our first holiday with just the two of us. She says that she's had lots with just her mom, but she can't wait to have one with me. Which honestly, just makes my own excitement almost too much to handle.
I arranged for the majority of our stuff to be shipped back to LA and packed us up a bag for the 4 day trip. Though I'm stopped from taking the bag out to the car with Ava rushing down the stairs, calling after me. "Mama! Wait! I forgot this." She says out of breath as she reaches me, holding out a photo frame in front of her. I take it from her hand and realise it's the photo from her bedside table. I've noticed that Ava always has this with her. "It's my first ever photo with mummy." She explains as I properly look over the photo.
Y/n is in a hospital bed with baby Ava wrapped up in her arms. Y/n has the biggest smile on her face, but you can tell that she is absolutely exhausted. Ava is looking adorable, as usual, and seems at peace in her mother's arms. I wish more than anything that I had been with Y/n when she had Ava. Supporting her whilst she was pregnant and seeing Ava grow up to be the incredible girl she's become. It makes me appreciate all the time I have with her even more so. I want to be the best mom to her that I can possibly be.
"I'll put this in your bag so it's safe." I reassure Ava, letting her see me wrap it in one of her t-shirts for a bit of protection. She smiles happily as I zip up the bag and put it by the door to take out to the car. I make sure that we have everything we need and that nothing is left behind. This is the last time I'll be in this house until we're back next year for Endgame. I'm excited that Y/n will hopefully be with me this time!
The journey to Myrtle beach was one of the easier ones that we've done recently. The flight was only a little over an hour and we seemed to have an easy ride through the airport on both ends. Before we know it, we're in the taxi on the way to the hotel. I've booked us the Marriot hotel right on the ocean front with some amazing views and within walking distance to everything that we want to do. I feel like we could spend the whole 4 days here and have a great time, as there are so many great facilities. But we both want to at least visit the amusement park.
