Y/n's POV:
I don't know where the time has gone. Our second wedding anniversary came so quickly, I can't believe we had already reached it. We decided to spend a long weekend in San Francisco, just the two of us. Although we really struggled with leaving the kids with my parents, it was nice getting some time to ourselves for a few days. We definitely made the most of it!
It's now July and we're enjoying the summer break with Ava home from school. We've spent a lot of time together and even had our first family visit to the UK. Dad kindly allowed us to use his jet, so we didn't have to worry about Leo disturbing anyone.
It ended up being a good choice as Leo did not like flying. I can only imagine it was the air pressure hurting his ears, but he doesn't know that, and he can't regulate to pop his ears. I felt awful as he cried for the first couple of hours. Thankfully, he calmed down and slept for a bit before Ava made the effort to sit with him.
Our time in London was amazing. We spent four weeks there. We had decided to look for a house so we had somewhere that we can stay when we visit. It was a nice experience, house hunting together. Ava enjoyed having an input on each house. We eventually settled on a house in Surrey. I had lived here in my old life in the military and enjoyed the area. Though I was living in the barracks and not a 5 bedroom home like we've just bought!
We had considered buying nearer where I grew up, but we knew that if Scarlett were to work here in England, she'd likely need to be near London and Surrey gives us easy access into the capital. As the house was empty, we were able to get it all completed before we left for LA. The last week we spent ordering furniture and setting the house up to feel more homely.
I'm excited that we have somewhere for us to call home in England. Hopefully it'll mean that we visit more often than we currently do. We spent a lot of time with Missy, Frankie and Jack, which made me realise how much I miss them. They all adored Leo and spoilt him and Ava so much.
Now we're back home, we are getting back into our summer routine. I had finished my work with Lorne a month ago which was a little bittersweet. But it's nice to know that the movie is complete. We have the premiere in September, and I can't wait to see the film in its entirety. Scarlett and I have talked about inviting Ava to come with us. As it's the last outing of her favourite Avenger, we thought it would be nice to take her with us so she can enjoy the moment too.
Today, we're spending the day with Lizzie and Robbie. They have invited us over to their house to spend the afternoon with them. As it's a nice day, we decide to spend it outside by the pool. Leo loves the water. Whether it's in the arms of one of his mums or floating around in his ring. He seems to have the time of his life!
Once he's in his cute little swimming trunks, I rest him in one arm as I slowly walk down the steps of the pool into the water. When I drop in the cool water, Leo lets out a giggle as I splash him a little. Gently, I move around in the water, moving him so he can splash himself. When Ava joins us Leo makes it his mission to get her as much as he can with his little hands hitting the water. In return, Ava splashes him gently, laughing. My heart is bursting at how cute this moment is and I love every one of these small moments that we have.
"Y/n/n, can you stop being so cute with your kids. I'm worried about Lizzie." Robbie calls out, getting my attention. I turn to look at Lizzie who's sat on the sun lounger next to Scarlett with the biggest love eyes on her face. "Oh, she's broody." I chuckle. "Make it stop." Robbie playfully whines. "Sorry, this baby has like magical powers." I say, holding him up like Rafiki holds Simba. Leo wiggles his legs and giggles away, adding to his cuteness.
"I'm blaming you when she starts talking babies." Robbie pouts. "Well if you put a ring on it, then it wouldn't be such a big thing now would it." I return, making both his and Lizzie's cheeks blush whilst Scarlett laughs. "Any way! Shall we start on dinner." Lizzie changes the subject quickly, getting up from her lounger and walking away. "Lizzie, we've literally only just got in the pool!" I call after her but it's too late, she's gone.
