Scarlett's POV:

Before we came to Disney, I was unconvinced that it was the right time to come. I was worried that Y/n was trying to hide her feelings and get back to normality quicker for the sake of Ava. Leading up until this trip, Y/n wasn't herself. She near enough refused to celebrate her birthday and only agreed to a dinner as Ava gave her the best puppy dog eyes she could. I was sure this wasn't the right time for us to be going on a trip, especially to Disneyland. However, I was totally wrong. I think this is exactly what she needed. What we all needed. These last two days, I've seen smiles on both Y/n and Ava's faces, that I haven't seen in a long time. And they're genuine.

Y/n seems so much lighter. For the last few weeks, it's like she's had the weight of the world on her shoulders. There were times that I could tell that it an effort for her to just get out of bed. I'm so incredibly proud of her. To see how far she's come through her grief. She continues to amaze me every day and this trip is no different.

This was exactly what we had wanted from this trip. Yes, it's a little later than we had planned, but it's giving us that opportunity to have quality family time together. Making up for some of the lost time of Y/n being away. This vacation is showing us how our life is going to be moving forward. Yes, there'll be times that I'm away with work, but now we'll be able to travel as a family. Just like we are with Atlanta next year. I'm so excited for our new life and where we're going.

Today we're heading back to the Disneyland Park to do the rides we didn't when we got here, and most importantly, go to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Lizzie is very jealous that we're going and has made us all promise to send lots of photos. She's such a Star Wars geek and she was almost able to convince us to let her join us. But this trip is for the three of us. We can always bring her back here another time.

When we arrive at the park, we head straight to Star Wars, just like we did yesterday with the Avengers Campus. I definitely am going to make Y/n pay for how much she teased me. I think I spent the majority of the time there with dark red cheeks of embarrassment. The moment she asked me to do the pose with Black Widow, I just wanted the ground to swallow me whole. Then to top it off, she shared the picture with the group chat, and I'm now being inundated with jokes and teasing from the rest of the cast.

But it was all worth it because I don't think I've seen Ava so happy before. She loves Avengers and getting to immerse herself into that world for the day was like a dream for her. Even Y/n was like an excited kid. Her Marvel geek was out in all it's glory. She was loving finding all the Howard Stark references and noticed so many little details. It was very cute and I'm sure I was just looking at her with heart eyes for most of the day. Some days, I feel like my love for her grows more than I think possible, and it's always from the smallest things. But seeing her so happy is everything to me.

I find it funny how excited Ava is for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge considering she's not seen the films. Though I have a feeling we'll be watching those on our next movie night. To be fair, I think she's excited because she can see how much Y/n is looking forward to going and it's rubbing off on her. We walk through the park, hand in hand, Ava pointing out the rides she wants do go on after we're done with Star Wars. There are so many and I'm glad that we've got another day here!

When we approach the entrance, I see Y/n's body almost start to buzz as we walk into Batuu. Her eyes going wide as we reach the markets. "Oh wow, this is so cool." She exclaims as her eyes can't take it all in quick enough. She's right though, I genuinely feel like I've been transported into the movies.

We walk through the marketplace and Y/n instantly runs over to a drink's vendor. "We are definitely getting one of these!" She grins holding up a coke bottle at us with a big grin. "Why is it like that?" Ava asks as she picks out a sprite. "They're Thermal Detonators. Aren't they cool?!" Y/n explains like it's totally normal. I have to admit, they are cool. Such a simple detail but it helps reinforce the whole scene setting. Y/n is already being too adorable with the excited nature this morning and I don't think I'm going to be able to handle it.
