Emily's point of view

I'm sitting in bed texting with Beca while I wait for Yelena to come home. She has been avoiding me and sneaking around for the past month and I'm nervous about what this means for us.

Emily 🐧: What if she's cheating on me, Beca? I mean, what other explanation could there be? I wait anxiously for her response which doesn't take long to come through and read the message.

Beca 💻: Emily, don't be ridiculous. You know she loves you. Weren't you the one who told me she was taking on more cases at work therefore she would be busier. I take a deep breath, thinking over what Beca just said.

Emily 🐧: I mean, yeah she has been but she always made sure to tell me when she was busy or if she was going to be late and now it's like pulling teeth to get her to tell me anything. I'm just worried she is getting bored with me and doesn't know how to end it on her own, so she's trying to make me be the one to end things.

Beca 💻: I get how you're feeling but is that really what you want to do? Ending things just because it's getting difficult?

Emily 🐧: No, it's not what I want, I love her with all of my heart but I just don't know what to do.

Beca 💻: Well, all you can do is talk to her, don't get too down on yourself or get stuck in your head. Remember all you have been through. I hear the front door close.

Emily 🐧: She just got home, here goes nothing. I'll let you know how it goes. Thank you again for everything, see you at work tomorrow. I put my phone to the side and turn on my bedside lamp.

,,Where were you?" I ask Yelena who tries to sneak into our bedroom in the middle of the night. ,,And don't say you were working late again, because I know you weren't."

,,I was with Clint. It's not a big deal, really. We just had a lot of stuff to do and -"

,,You have been with him a lot lately and now you say it's no big deal?" I sigh.

,,Em -" Yelena tries to speak more, but I stop her right away.

,,Never mind, just cut it. I don't want to hear your excuses anymore." I push Yelena away as she climbs into bed and join me under the covers, trying to wrap her arms around me. I don't want Yelena to touch me, not after she had done God knows what all day, with Clint.

,,Em, please." Yelena whispers and tries to take my hand, but I pull away before she can get ahold of it.

,,No, Yelena. You're never home anymore. This thing has been going on for a month now." I hiss angrily and see Yelena wince.

,,I can explain, Em." Yelena begins, but I don't want to hear it.

,,You don't need to explain, you really don't. I get it. I work a lot at Republic Records and am busy with my career. I wouldn't want to be with me either and honestly, I'm sorry I don't have much time for you. So, I totally get that you want to try someone else. I just wish you would've told me what was bothering you before you cheated on me, Yelena." Yelena looks at me with confusion written all over her face, her mouth wide open.

,,I... what?! Emily, I'm not cheating on you. I'd never do that to you! I love you!"

,,Do you really? I haven't seen you properly in weeks! You haven't taken me on dates in almost two months, you are always working or out with Clint. You don't even kiss me goodnight anymore because you're never here when I go to bed! You're always with Clint. You haven't made love to me in over three weeks! It's okay if you don't find me attractive anymore, but don't fuck someone else behind my back and just break up with me instead." I started crying halfway through my rant as I got up.
