A visit from the Barron

After breakfast Rain sent Steve and Bucky off with kisses and a promise not to deep clean[again], "I promise just the normal dusting and laundry."
Both men laughed. Steve kissed her cheek, "Nat and Wanda will be by later to take you shopping."
Rain blushed, "You don't have to-"
Bucky kissed her other cheek, "Come on let us spoil our best girl."
Rain smiled, "I can't say no to you 2."
Steve kissed her again, "Mmm that opens so many possibilities baby girl."
Rain giggled, "You're gonna be late."
Bucky kissed her one last time, "Worth it."

Rain had just switched loads when she heard Nat call down the stairs, "Rain are you ready?"
Rain laughed, "Yeah, I'll be up in a sec!"
Rain came up the stairs and saw Wanda and Nat leaning on the island, "Hey girls."
Wanda smiled, "Hi! Are you excited about tonight?"
Rain blushed, "I am, but nervous too."
Wanda patted her back, "Why nervous?"
Rain sighed, "It's my first big outing since all of this...What if..."
Nat hugged her, "Hey... Don't think things like that."
Rain smiled, "I know...[sighing] ok... Let's get on down the road; I've a date night out fit to buy."
Wanda grinned, "Oh! I almost forgot! Steve said to give you this."
She handed Rain an envelope. Puzzled she opened it, "Oh my God!"
Inside was a card that read: HAVE AN AMAZING DAY ANGEL SEE YOU TONIGHT

With it was ten hundred dollar bills, "He didn't have to do that!"
Both Nat and Wanda laughed. Nat shook her head, "And that's why he did it."

Meanwhile in the offices....
Steve and Bucky walked into Steve's office discussing their plans for the night when they noticed a man sitting in one of the chairs, "Can I help you?" Steve asked.
Bucky tensed ready to draw his weapon.
The man stood turning and in a slight forgein accent replied, "You can actually... I'd like for you to return my financè."
Steve's jaw clenched, "Barron Zemo I presume?"
Zemo gave a nod of his head, "Indeed Captain Rogers and your companion is no doubt James Barnes."
Steve walked to his desk, "I assure you we do not have your fiancé."
Zemo smiled and gave a chuckle, "I may not have had a chance to propose properly, but I have spoken to Rain Lynn's uncle already... She is to be my wife."
Bucky made a step forward, but Steve stopped him, "I regret to inform you that Rain is an adult and free to choose her own husbands and does not need the consent of her uncle."
Zemo pursed his lips together, "You are making a very grave mistake Captain."
Steve stood ram rod straight, "Are you threatening me?"
Zemo smirked, "I do not make threats. I am how ever a very patient man."
He turned to leave, but paused, "Please tell my fiancé I will see her soon."
Bucky broke and grabbed him by the lapels of his coat, "You come near her and I will end you faster than you can blink."
Zemo shook his head, "So violent James; I like it, but you aren't my type."
Bucky let him go and Zemo kept walking, "Good day gentlemen."
Steve threw a stapler, "That son of a bitch!"
Bucky shook with anger, "If he even...."
Steve fell to his chair, "Rain is going to worry."
Bucky paced, "If she thought she could..."
"Not happening..." Steve picked up his phone, "Laura? Yeah I know this was your late day... When you get in cancel all of mine and Barnes's meetings. Thank you."
Steve stood, "Come on... We're fighting to keep our girl."
Bucky followed.
