Rain sat in the law offices of Nelson and Murdock a few weeks after her rescue. Steve and Bucky sat listening to the news Foggy delivered, "We don't know what happened... Zemo just..."
Rain blinked, "He's still out there..."
Steve kissed the top of her head, "I swear-"
Rain shook her head, "No... Don't...I can't stand the thought of possibly losing you or Bucky. Promise me you won't-"
Bucky held her hand, "Rain we'll protect you no matter what."
Matt sighed and made his way toward the trio, "Rain... I know this is hard for you, but you aren't alone."
Rain sniffled. Steve kissed her head, "I need to go over some things in the office. Bucky and Matt are going to take you home."

From the shadows Zemo watched as the blind lawyer and Barnes lead Rain away. Anger burned inside of him. He was going to get Rain and she would be punished for her sins. He was too gentle with her, but now he understood; she need a strong hand to guide her. He frowned; first thing to do will be to get rid of those who keep her from him.

Bucky went down to the gym to work out some aggression.
Rain started to work on cooking. Matt sat at the island, "Rain?"
Rain lifted her head, "Yes Matt?"
Matt stood edging toward her, "Does Steve have any live in staff?"
Rain frowned, "No... Matt why do you ask?"
Matt stood in front of Rain, "Only you me and Bucky are here?"
Rain drew a knife from the cutting block, "Yes... What do you hear?"
Matt went to answer, but a voice surprised them, "I believe he heard me little maus."

Zemo pointed a gun a Matt's head, "Call Barnes up here."
Rain reached for the knife, but Zemo caulked the gun, "I will shoot him. Call Barnes up here now."
Rain went to the top of the stairs, "James.. Can you come here I need help."

Bucky frowned. Rain rarely called him James, "I'll be right there."
He had a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach and grabbed his gun just in case.
At the top of the stairs he saw Rain's eyes wide with fear; before he could ask what was wrong he heard Zemo's voice, "Hello James."
Without warning he pointed the gun at Bucky and pulled the trigger.
Rain stepped in front of him getting in the way catching the bullet in her shoulder.
Matt attacked Zemo knocking him unconscious; as Bucky caught Rain as she fell, "Why did you... Damn it doll." He stuttered trying to stop the blood flow.
Rain smiled up at him, "I love you."
Rain closed her eyes and blacked out.
Bucky screamed. Matt dialed 911, "I need police and and ambulance...."
