In the family way

Steve raced into the hospital followed by Foggy and Sam.
Bucky sat with Matt.
Steve's heart panicked seeing Bucky then Matt both covered in blood.
Bucky shook seeing Steve, "It's my fault..."
Matt tried to comfort him, "Bucky don't..."
Steve looked at him, "What happened? Where's Rain?"
Matt sighed, "Zemo broke in. He was going to shoot Bucky..."
Bucky sniffled, "She... She stepped in front of me... Steve... I-"
Bucky broke down. Sam came over with a nurse, "Are you here for Rain Creek?"
Everyone turned and focused on her, "Yes... We're... We're her..."
Steve stuttered.
The nurse nodded, "Family will do... Miss Creek is in surgery now. I don't know more than that right now. Her surgeon is Dr. Stephen Strange."
Foggy briefly exchanged words with the nurse and came over with scrubs, "Guys here change into these... You don't need to sit in... Just change."
Bucky nodded. Matt took the clothes, "Thanks Foggy."
Steve turned to Sam, "I don't care how, but Zemo..."
They turned to look at Foggy who wandered off making a phone call. Steve grimly chuckled at the lawyer creating deniability, "Zemo dies."
Sam shook his head, "I'll call my cousin Wade. He'll arrange it."
Steve sat down. He came close to losing the 2 most important people in his life. Zemo would not get a second chance.
Bucky and Matt came back in clean clothes. Foggy hung up his phone call, "I was just checking, Fisk is still in custody and was unaware of Zemo's escape."
As the 4 men talked a man in scrubs came out, "Are you the family of Rain Creek?"
Steve and Bucky nodded. Bucky tried not to break, "Is she..."
The man smiled, "I'm Dr. Stephen Strange and your girl pulled through fine. The bullet went all the way through her left shoulder. We did have to give her several pints of blood. Even better news is that the baby will be just fine."
Steve and Bucky paled, "Baby?"
Dr. Strange blinked, "You didn't know... Well she's only maybe 2months along at most... Still very early. She might not have know either..."
Steve smiled, "Thank you doctor."
Bucky was speechless, "A baby..." Suddenly his eyes went dark, "I'm going to kill Zemo with my bare hands!"
Steve stopped him, "No... Let's go see our girl."

Rain slowly woke up, "What the hell happened?"
A soft voice answered, "You got shot."
Rain's eyes were blurry from the anesthesia and not having her glasses on. The blurry person came over and patted her hand, "You're going to be sore for awhile, but you and the little one pulled through like champs."
Rain blinked, "What little one?"
The voice giggled, "You're pregnant Rain."
Pregnant? Rain felt her stomach flutter, "Are you sure nurse?"
The voice came closer, "Very sure. Get some rest. You're gonna need it."
Rain closed her eyes; a baby? Steve and Bucky would be surprised... Oh god! Steve and Bucky! Would they be mad?
Rain started to cry.

Steve and Bucky came in to sit with Rain and found her crying and talking to herself, "A baby? Oh but Steve and Bucky?!"
Steve brushed her cheek, "Are you scare they won't be happy?"
Bucky gave Steve a look, but Steve hushed him. Rain whimpered, "I don't know who the father is. What if they don't wanna raise the baby with me?"
Bucky's heart broke a little. He didn't care if he was the biological father or not. He was excited to be a dad.
Steve brushed her cheek again, "Oh baby girl..."
Rain looked over at them, "Hey when did you get here?"
Steve smiled,"Just a little bit ago."
Bucky leaned over and put her glasses on her, "Hey beautiful."
Rain blinked, "Bucky?! Steve?! Oh oh you're both... I have to tell you..."
Steve kissed her forehead, "We know baby girl."
Rain frowned, "How do you know?"
Bucky chuckled, "The doctor told us."
Rain started to cry, "Don't be mad... I..."
Steve soothed her brow and Bucky held her hand, "Rainy don't cry... We're both happy. Just don't worry or stress."
Bucky kissed her hand, "It doesn't matter who the father is to us..." He touched her stomach, "That's our baby."
Rain smiled and settled, "Our baby... Rogers-Barnes-Creek baby. That's too long of a name...[yawn] we'll have to drop Creek..."
Rain drifted off to sleep again.
Steve looked up at Bucky, "She's right... We're going to have to get her to change her name."
Bucky smiled, "To Rogers-Barnes huh?"
Steve grinned, "You ready to be husband and father?"
Bucky chuckled, "Are you buddy?"
Steve sat back, "We're gonna be dads."
