Meeting Mother

Rain was released from the hospital a week later. Dr. Banner swung by before she was checked out to visit and take over as primary physician, "I'll get you scheduled with the best ob/gyn I know."
Rain walked into the house and was greeted by a loud, "SURPRISE!"
Nat and Wanda hugged her tight together, "You scared us girly!" Nat said holding her.
Wanda nodded, "Were out numbered by the boys; you can't leave us."
Rain laughed as Matt and Foggy hugged her next, "Between you and Matt I'm going to go gray prematurely." Foggy teased.
Clint sighed, "You're tough kiddo."
Sam grinned, "Hell yeah she is."
Rain wiped tears away as Gloria came out with a cake that read, "WELCOME HOME"
Gloria patted her cheeks, "Sara and Winnie are going to love you. You're good for those 2 knuckleheads."
Rain paled; she had forgotten about meeting Steve and Bucky's moms.
Bucky noticed her change, "Doll you alright?"
Rain nodded absent mindedly, "Huh? Oh yeah."
Steve guided her to a chair, "Rain don't lie..."
Rain blinked, "I'm ok... Just what if your moms don't like me or don't like our..."
Gloria chuckled setting down the cake, "See this is why Sara told me to keep an eye on you."
The older woman sat next to Rain, "Sweetie Sara and Winnie know about Steve and Bucket."
Rain looked wide eyed as Steve kissed her, "I might not look it, but I'm a mama's boy. I tell her everything."
Bucky laughed, "My mom's pretty open minded."
Rain shook her head, "Oy vay."

A few weeks later Steve Bucky and Rain sat in an exam room with a doctor as she wiped off the KY jelly from her belly, "Well Miss Creek everything looks like you are on track with a healthy pregnancy."
A sigh of relief was let out by all 3.
Walking out of the office Rain held the sonogram pictures giggling as Steve got a phone call, "Hello... Ma!"
Rain looked up expectantly as she and Bucky listened, "We're just leaving Rain's doctor's appointment."
Bucky nudged her and kissed her temple and traced the image in the photo, "Stop worrying Rainy."
Steve laughed, "Yeah of course. Ok we'll stop by tomorrow."
Steve hung up, "Ma just got in last night and wants us to come over for lunch tomorrow." He took the photo from Rain and grinned, "I can't wait to show her these."
He kissed Rain deeply holding her tight, "I love you."
Bucky took the sonogram photos from him, "We should get these framed."
Rain leaned on Steve and took Bucky's hand, "We could get copies made for both of your moms."
Bucky grinned, "This'll be my mom's 5th grandbaby. My sister and her hubby are very fertile."
Steve chuckled, "How is Rebecca and Harold?"
Bucky handed Rain back the photos, "If Grant doesn't have them busy with his sports the triplets have them running with their music."
Rain stared at him, "Triplets?"
Bucky took out a photo from his wallet, "That's Grant and the triplets Anna, Avery and Beau. Avery and Beau are identical. Anna was a surprise they didn't know of until the 6month mark. She kept hidden behind Beau."
Rain sighed, "Oh my."
Steve paused, "Baby girl are you ok?"
Rain looked up at him, "I didn't know Bucky had a sister or he had niece and nephews... I barely know anything about you and here I am pregnant with a baby that you both wanna raise with me and well..."
Rain started to cry.
Bucky fought a chuckle, "Baby... Rain I'm not as close to my family as Steve is to his mom. I love them do anything for them, but they live in California. My mom is spending her retirement traveling."
Steve chuckled, "Come on let's get home."

Rain spent most of the night baking cookies and other treats to take to Steve's mom's house.
Steve looked at everything, "Honey you don't-"
Rain trembled a little, "What if she hates me?"
Steve pulled her into his arms, "Rain my mother will love you. You don't have to prove anything."
Rain sat down, "Steve..."
Steve sat across from her and held her hand, "I love you Rain Creek. Nothing in this whole world will change that. You're carrying my baby." Rain went to open her mouth, but Steve cut her off, "I don't care who fathered them... Ok That baby was created out of the love the 3 of us share; so, it's my baby as much as Bucky's and you know he feels the same."
Rain cradled her stomach, "But what if your doesn't think like that?"
Steve played with Rain's fingers, "Then I'll be very sad for her because she'll miss out on getting to know how amazing you are and this baby will be."
Rain smiled, "I love you Steven Rogers."
Steve stood and kissed her, "I love you Rain Creek."

Sara Rogers opened the door and hugged Rain before ever saying hello to her son or Bucky, "Oh my gracious! You are just a precious picture! Oh I didn't hurt your shoulder did I? Come in come in!"
Rain was ushered in as Steve and Bucky chuckled following, "I'm here too Ma."
Sara turned and smiled, "Oh did you come too?"
Steve kissed his mother's cheek, "Funny Ma very funny."
Bucky kissed the older woman's cheek as well, "Hello Ma Rogers."
Sara chuckled, "That makes me sound like a 1930's gun moll."
Bucky winked, "You like it."
Sara blushed, "Oh you..."
Rain handed her a thing of cookies and other treats, "I made these for you."
Sara let a small gasp, "These look home made. Like my mother made."
Steve proudly kissed Rain, "She was up most the night baking from scratch. Wanted to impress you."
Sara blushed, "Oh child you didn't have to... I'm already impressed you handle my boys so well. Gloria told me you keep them in line."
Rain blushed, "I try ma'am."
Sara smiled, "Well you just sit down and I'll bring out the food, "I made roast beef. Steve come help."
Bucky grinned and stole a kiss, "Told ya she'd love you."
