A few weeks after the award show the couple had to be in one of there best times together. Of course with all that happened it wasn't back to being fully 100% but it was getting there. The trust between the two was getting better plus it helped that their relationship was already in the limelight for awhile so it wasn't as difficult to communicate as it was before. They could jet off to see each other and no one would be surprised anymore, quite the contrary the fans seemed to love it. There was something about a couple built off rivalry that had the media in their hands waiting for the next step so they can publicize it.
It couple be something as simple as Cristiano and Catalina going out for dinner or even something as small as her and Junior walking the dogs together and the next thing you would know they were on thousands of covers of different magazines. Since they both did have heavily media influenced jobs it played into their favor especially when they had to travel away from one another. In the least toxic way to put this one couldn't do something without it being brought to their immediate attention. Just last week there was a photo of Cris walking into a jewelry store with all sorts of rumors linked around it, the main one being that he was getting THE ring to propose.
Safe to say people were disappointed when it came out to be just another flashy watch on his latest instagram post. There was also lows when there were the highs as once again their job did play a big role. If Catalina was in Barcelona he was in Sevilla for a match or when Cris was in Madrid she was shipped off to València. The whole thing over all was annoying when trying to repair a relationship but they made it work. Unfortunately though Catalina hasn't had much time on her hand to put in as much effort as Cris was as the World Cup was coming up for her. She tried to put off going to Argentina until she was forced to.
Cristiano wasn't upset with this in the slightest because while it was disheartening that she wasn't around all the time he also was immensely proud that she valued her job as much as he did. They were both athletes, stars of their teams if you will and that had a heavy burden on them to be the best at all times. Everyone knew to be the best you had to train hard and play even harder so if anything Cristiano pushed her to go so she could be back in his arms even faster.
"Amor it's fine" Cristiano repeated for about the 50th time to Catalina as she slowly packed her bags.
"I know you've said that countless of times but I still feel guilty I'll be gone from you for practically a month" she had to fly out to Argentina for the training and a send off game and then fly off to France with the national team.
"It's for your job mi amor I understand" sweet talking her seemed to be the only way she would leave without practically tearing herself apart.
"You promise to attend the final if we make it through"
She knew she had a strong team but still sometimes it wasn't enough. So many times she had come up short with her national team just to be turned into a melting mess of tears in her brothers arms. That's was something that they both unfortunately had in common, never striking gold with their national team which often more then not lead the two siblings crying in each others arms. After all who could better understand one another in their positions then both captains of the national team, siblings, older brother to little sister, failure to failure, the best but never enough. It haunted the Messi family to this day seeing their shortcomings but Lina hoped to change that all.
This one win would be the world to her from the time she could walk this was her dream making not only her country and family proud but herself. It was in her grasp and while she may not have been able to win it last time she was determine to bring it home with her this time around.
"Already bought the the tickets cause I know you'll make it through" there was no doubt in his mind that Catalina would make it through, she had to.
"Don't jinx it" she shouted making him knock on wood immediately after.
