When it came to the big day of Catalina going against her national rival to say the least she wasn't calm. Matter of a fact her teammates would call it an "emotional hurricane" waiting to wipe out anyone in her path. While yes Catalina was confident in her and the teams abilities to pull out a victory, it wasn't enough at least not in this situation.

For as long as Catalina had been around for the Argentina national team she has always had one rival or at least people would always compare the two to an extreme level of obsession. If one, won a title the other should as well, to put in a perspective Alex Morgan was her Cristiano to her Leo. Granted her brother and Cristiano didn't really have any real issues to after she started dating him, but this rivalry between her Alex was very much real and not one sided. The two often bumping heads in every match where they versed each other, whether it was club or national team.
A/N: nothing against Alex Morgan but I need drama

It also couldn't be left unsaid that Lina was still upset after the last World Cup. She was forced to leave the tournament early due to the women herself giving her an injury, which to this day Lina said was on purpose despite the claims that it wasn't. In Lina's minds there is no way a striker should ever be in contact with a right wing when they weren't defending. For godsake the American girl all but shoved her boot into her ankle making it swell up almost instantaneously. The next thing she knew after that was she wheeled off the field and her 2015 World Cup came to an early but sad end. She had cried her eyes out for that whole week to Leo claiming she could've made a difference with in the game after Argentina ended up losing 1-3.

This year Catalina was determined to change this, there would be no mistakes on her behalf and she would keep her eyes sharp at all times. In her career whether its just barley started or not, could never be for certain that it could prosper forever. All it takes is one injury and boom her careers gone. Every game Catalina played it as her last never knowing for certain her future, she hated to use him as an example but she didn't want to end up like Neymar. Yes she loved the boy more then words can explain but for some awful reason nature had it out for him, always injured or taken out. That's why she never took a match lightly because while she had the job right now and was one of its stars, that is never guaranteed for the next season. For all she knows Barcelona could trade her without a second thought so she continuously had to push herself no matter where she currently stood in life.

"Catalina breathe" she repeated the motto to herself until she felt her breathing returning to normal.

She stood in her hotel room getting ready to head to the stadium in about 2 hours but her nerves already began to act up. Her teammates were already out trying to enjoy the rest of their morning before the actual competition began. Some even invited her to breakfast or a walk around town but she couldn't accept well more like her nerves wouldn't allow her to. She knew knew that if she stepped outside paparazzi would swarm her and that's the last thing she wanted right now. Her top priority was getting her mindset right for the game later today and trying to remain prepared. So she tried to do some yoga before another knock disturbed her.

"I swear if this girl forget her key again" she whispered under her breath thinking it was her friend and teammate.

"Coming" dusting the non existent dust of her she stood up to open the door only to be met with another surprise.

"Cris" right before her stood her boyfriend who went MIA for almost a solid week.

"I can explain everything" he said immediately as he could see her head start to turn with unspoken thoughts.

"Oh you better" she wasn't in the mood to play around as she didn't even welcome him in but allowed him to enter.

"This is a nice hotel they got you" trying to ease his nerves with small talk it was shot down by his girl.
