"Sephy, you are looking... bigger" he commented I rolled my eyes "You say that every time you see me" I groaned "You get bigger every time I see you" he shrugged "What did you want?" Hades asked in a hard tone "Hermes was only kidding" I defended
"I have some messages, from the underworld" he said, holding up some papers in his hand "Go. Talk" I urged Hades, pulling myself back up to sitting Hades sighed, kissing my head and standing up, removing his cloak and wrapping it around my shoulders
"Should you be out in the cold?" Hermes asked as Hades ushered him away "I am fine Hermes" I called, turning my attention to the river
And I slowly pushed the ice in, feeling the ice cold water rush over my fingers as I smiled "There you are Cyane" I said quietly "I miss you. Especially during times like this... you would have loved a little baby running around. We always talked about what our futures would be like... I never... I never thought yours would turn out quite like this" I said, trying not to let the guilt and the pain consume me
"I am so sorry Cyane. That your fate came to this. I... I do not know if you can even hear me. If... if you are even there anymore. But... you were the dearest friend I ever had growing up" I said honestly
And my guilt shifted as I thought of Minthe And the horrible act I committed turning her into a plant I am no better, than my mother turning the nymphs to flowers Then Zeus commanding and ordering
Who was I to take her life away? To trap her...
"Seph" Hades said above me "I must return. But Artemis has offered to come and accompany you" he said as he knelt beside me I nodded "Alright, nothing is wrong?" I asked worriedly "No my love, nothing at all" he assured, kissing the top of my head as his hand weaved through my hair
I closed my eyes and revelled in his touch before it was taken away "Hermes will stay until she arrives" he said I nodded once more as Hermes settled beside me
"It is too cold up here" Hermes said once Hades left "It is better than staying cooped up in one room, lying in bed all day on resting duties when I should be doing things for my people" I said "Your people" he echoed amused
"Well... yes. I am queen of the underworld now, I must show myself to the souls, to let them know I care" I thought aloud
"And do you?" He asked "Of course I do" I said quickly "I am simply asking Sephy, not everyone is cut out for your kind of world" he shrugged "Well I am. Or mine and Hades' fates would not be so irrevocably entwined" I said confidently
