Love is different for everyone
Humans find love in the simple things, such as afternoon strolls, weddings and sunset kisses
Waiting for their other soul to come back from war safe
To protect them and love them in return
Two souls winding togethe...
"The gods may part us but never ever break her. My Persephone, always waiting" - d.c

"Hades! Hades!" I heard Hermes voice I looked up as I walked along the fields back to the castle Before he caught sight of me and flew down "Hades! The baby is coming" he said panicked
And shocking my entire body "What?" I asked, stopping in place "Now! It is coming now" he stressed I rushed up the hills, worry and excitement entwining and carrying me faster than I had ever moved
"I shall just... yeah" Hermes said, stopping short of the doorway to leave us to it "Get Demeter" I called as I rushed to her bedside As much as I loathe the woman, Seph wants her here, so she needs to be told
I threw the doors open and found Persephone panting in bed, chest heaving and hair a mess as she looked to me and immediately held her hand out I neared her and felt a fraction of her pain as she squeezed my hand "Better late than not at all" Gaia commented from the other side of the bed
"Lady Persephone, it may be time to push" the maid said, looking up unsurely Not out of doubt for the baby, but clear doubt that Seph might bite her head off "And that is my cue" Gaia said, leaving "I cannot" she shook her head
"You can love. You can do this" I said as she looked at me "This is everything we have wanted, remember? You have conquered the underworld, kidnappings, Olympus. Your mother" I said. And her mother was a pretty big feat to conquer
"You can do this my love" I said, she nodded "Yes... yes I can... I..." "You need to push" the maid said, looking up at her She gritted her teeth, crying out in pain as she began to push.
And I let her take every pain and anger out on my hand, on my forearm by the end of it as she gripped me for dear life and screamed her lungs out Before the noise stopped altogether And there was a moment of silence
A tense and frightening silence that I never realised happened before When parents have a split second before hearing the baby cry, before relief floods their hearts and their heads and the mother can finally rest
It was the scariest second of my existence No one tells you that part, that in one second you become so attached to a little baby that their every movement and their every word will leave you constantly scared
I did not like feeling scared But as soon as the baby cried, my heart settled and my head assured me they were both alright That we would be alright The maid passed him to Persephone, before leaving us whilst I merely stared in awe
