“Okay, let's go over this again,” Jia said from her position on the stage. A board map was behind her and her subordinates and son stood alongside her.

Everyone paid attention as Jia began speaking. She pointed at a position on the map a few meters away from The Resistance base. “Four of our strongest witches will be stationed here out of view, to create a portal to get us out when we are done.”

“Those who come into the base have been separated into teams. You all know your teams and leaders. Team A will take out the guards and go through the entrance door. Team B will get in through the top floor and disable the security operations. Team C will stay outside out of view till I signal you to act.

Meanwhile our only technologist, Alexei will stay back here with the rest of our fighters with the other students. He will hack into the system and be our eyes. So you must follow all his directions.”

When the meeting was over and the students started piling out of the room. Jia called Alexei and handed over the device he had given her.

He stared down at the device he had made two months ago to contact the number Nadia was given. “Still no reply?”

Jia shook her head grimly. They had been calling the number for a long time but it kept going to voicemail. In the end, they were forced to leave a message asking for help and gave a summary of what the Resistance had been up to along with the Resistance base address.

Jia told him. “Keep it with you.”

Nadia's team of ten hid behind the trees and watched the guards patrolling before the huge gates.

Forty of them embarked on the mission, the others had to stay back to protect the non-fighters. It was a small number but they were depending on the other students joining the fight when they are released.

Leia their team leader said. “I will create a distraction and you guys take down the others.”

Leia's eyes turned blue and one of the guards paused then turned to his friend and smacked his face.

His friend held his cheek in surprise. “What was that for?”

“There was a huge fly on your face, don't worry I got it. No, wait... It's still there.”

He smacked him again. The others guards paused at the scene and exchanged looks.

His friend slapped him back. “You fool! there was nothing on my face.”

It escalated into a fight and the other five guards tried to separate them. They didn't notice when Nadia and the rest snuck behind them. They worked quickly in rendering them unconscious.

“Quickly, change into their clothes,” Leia commanded.

They pulled the men into the forest and changed into the guards' uniforms.

Standing before the iron gates, Leia touched her earpiece. “Alexei?”

“Just a minute. Okay done. Team A, I am playing temporary footage of the clear field behind these gates, before you will walk in now, on their system. So when you go in and do your thing, what the security guard will be seeing is a clear field. This will only last for two minutes now. So you better hurry.”

Leia glanced at Nadia. Nadia nodded and walked through the gates, leaving the others outside.

She walked toward the entrance where two guards were positioned.

They stopped her before she could go any further. “Hey, you can't just leave patrol.”

Deepening her voice, she said. “The head guard called for me. Said it's urgent.”
