A group of students walked in; a total of three girls and two boys. They walked like they owned the place, with their heads held high and postures filled with confidence. They took their time heading to a particular table in the cafeteria.Amongst them, was a boy with white hair and bright blue eyes. The bolts of lightning flashing in his eyes made Nadia's eyes widen. He went without the school blazer, his shirt sleeves rolled up to the elbows and the three top buttons of the shirt undone. He stood above those he strolled with, in height, with a lithe body.
The boy raised his hand in getting to someone and Nadia sported tiny bolts of electricity dancing at his fingertips. This must be Lloyd.
The second boy stood a head shorter than Lloyd. His naturally tan skin, light brown hair, and brown eyes that were shaped like that of a wolf, were a pleasing sight to the eyes. He was properly and completely dressed unlike Lloyd, he kept making hand gestures while speaking to Lloyd, who hummed and nodded occasionally.
They finally sat at a table in the middle and Nadia studied the three girls. Two identical girls sat on either side of a girl, who looked very much like Lloyd. Her long black hair was in a tight ponytail with the last four inches dyed a white colour. Her bright blue - almost grey - eyes framed by long dark lashes, shone with mirth as she tipped her head back and let out an enticing laugh.
The twins on either side of her looked like the Philippines, they had shoulder-length brown hair with dark eyes. They didn't have power oozing out of them, so it was clear that weren't level five.
"Who are they?" Nadia inquired, looking away from them and back to her friends.
Mia started to explain, "They are one of the top level five groups in our school. To be a level five takes a lot of hard work and dedication but these people were born as level five with the amount of power they have. So they are respected, admired, feared, and envied in this school.”
Joanne who had gone to get herself and Nadia two plates of French fries plopped her butt down on the seat and continued the explanation, "The boy with the white hair is Lloyd- pretty obvious- He's from America. he's gifted with the ability to control the weather which means lightning which also equals electricity, which also makes him mess with our bulbs all the time," she clicked her tongue.
She threw a fry in her mouth, chewed it, and swallowed, before continuing to talk, "One year and some months ago, a guy initiated a fight with him. Lloyd struck him with lightning which resulted to level three-degree burns, the guy is still in a coma fighting for his life. The guy is quite lucky he's a supernatural or else he would already be dead."
Faryal continued from there, "The other guy is Native American. His name is Seth. He's a shifter, which means he can change his body to a particular form, his form is a wolf. Hasn't gotten in a fight with anybody, since no one wants to challenge any of them since the incident with Lloyd," Makena stated.
They all turned to the next person after Faryal, who happened to be Ahryan. He raised an eyebrow at them.
His cousin pointed out, "It's your turn."
“What is this? A lesson class?” Ahryan rolled his eyes but continued anyway, "The girl with the black hair is Leia. She is Lloyd's younger sister. She is gifted, we don't know her powers. She makes fun of people lower than her."
Abhay gulped his water before starting, "The other two girls are Mara and Clara. Twins obviously but we don't know the senior. They are from the Philippines. They are level four gifted, not level five. But since they hang out with Leia, they are respected and admired.
Clara can increase in size while Mara can decrease in size.""Steer clear of them," Makena warned. "Although people see them like gods, they know not to get too close. We don't fully know what they are capable of."
Nadia nodded in understanding.
"So when do you want your training to begin?" Abhay asked as they all headed for their classes except Nadia.
Abhay, Joanne, and Nadia walked through the halls as the rest had already entered their classes.
"I think the sooner the better, I have to fit in on time, and in a school like this, it's best I learn how to defend myself before it's too late," she said. "Maybe tomorrow evening, when you're free?"
"Sure," Abhay agreed. "5 pm sharp at the school field," he turned around the corner and hurried to his class.
Joanne escorted Nadia to the stairs leading to the girls' dorm rooms.
“Sorry for making you late to class,” Nadia said.
“No problem. See you later Roomie.” Joanne gave a quick salute and ran off.
Nadia got into the room, about to close the door but the sound of shuffling of books in the room caught her attention. She turned around to see a girl with fiery red hair, hurriedly picking up books and murmuring to herself.
This must be Freya Nadia concluded.
The girl finished placing all the books in her bag. She draped the bag on one shoulder and made to leave the room but halted at the sight of Nadia before her. She pursed her lips, staring her up and down.
Nadia smiled and stepped forward. "Hi, you must be Freya, I'm..."
Freya brushed past her shoulder and went out the door, slamming it shut afterwards. Nadia stood there, staring at the door and blinking repeatedly
She must have been in a hurry, no need to think anything yet.
It will be a while before her roommates get back during the evening, so she decided to help herself to some reading. She opened her shelf and browsed through the books before settling on one.
