She didn't respond because she was too in shock, Jace was kissing her in front of almost everyone in the school. Ahryan suddenly choked on his drink and the sound of him coughing caused Jace to pull away.Jace's eyes widened at the realization of what he had done. "Alexandra, I'm so sor-" he was interrupted by a punch to his face.
"Keep your hands off my friend, mister," Mia warned. She had been quick to come in between them and defend her friend.
"Just because you defended her, doesn't mean you can take your chances with her," she continued, meeting his deadly glare with hers.
"Listen, girl," Jace sneered. "I'm going to let what you did slide because you are Alexandra's or else..."
She cut him off. "Or else what. You read my lips, I'm not scared of you or anyone here. Let this happen again and I'll castrate you."
She pulled a frozen Nadia out of the cafeteria, their friends following behind them.
"Nadia, what just happened out there?"
She demanded."I..."
"What even gave him the impression that he has the right to do that?"
"I..."
"Are you guys dating?"
"No, we're..."
"Don't tell me you guys are dating?"
"Will you liste-"
"Say something!"
"I'm trying to," she snapped back frustrated. Nadia took in a deep breath, trying to keep calm. "Jace and I are just friends."
Mia gave her a disbelieving look. "I don't see friends going about, kissing each other."
Joanne squealed, jumping up and down. "Yay! Brother-in-law!"
"We are not dating!" Nadia yelled, irritated.
But they seem to ignore what she said, choosing to go with their theories.
Mia addressed Joanne, "She is 'friends' with a demon, as she puts it. Demons are bad news."
Ahryan said something in his language, mocking her, which was obvious due to the smirk on his face. He wanted her to hear it but at the same time not understand it.
Faryal slapped the back of his head and he immediately turned to frown at her, rubbing the back of his head. "What was that for?" he complained.
Faryal said to Nadia, "I agree with Mia on this, demons have always been bad news. It's best that you stay away from them."
"Listen, we're just friends. Okay," she claimed. "I'm going to head back to my dorm. See you guys later."
Nadia left abruptly, not waiting for their reply. She got to her dorm, went inside then closed the door before proceeding to slide down it.
She ran her fingers through her hair ignoring the way her lips were still tingling from the kiss. The kiss kept replaying over and over in her head like a broken record. But she would be lying if she said she didn't like it.
Later that evening, Nadia came out of the bathroom after taking her bath. She was clad in a white towel and was using another to dry her hair when she noticed the window was open.
Did I open this window? She thought confused because the windows were closed when she got to the room earlier today and she doesn't remember opening them.
She shrugged it off and closed them. When she went to her wardrobe and opened it, she noticed it has been ransacked. Someone had scattered the clothes and hadn't bothered folding them back.
