— "HEY!" BAKUGO YELLED, "deku, you bastard! tell me how you did that, or you're dead!"
izuku whipped around, his eyes blown wide in fear. i leaned forward and grabbed the collar of his tracksuit before his arm whirled back and he shoved me into uraraka, continuing his murderous pursuit.
he ran up to the white circle, izuku left completely frozen in fear before the scarf around aizawa's neck unfurls around him and the end shoots out. it wrapped around his chest, neck, and arms, hooking on his teeth as bakugo struggled out of the thick fabric.
"what?!" he said, tugging against it, "why the hell is your scarf so damn strong?!"
"because it's a capture weapon, made out of carbon fiber and a special metal alloy." aizawa said, "stand down. it'd be wise to avoid making me use my quirk so much. it gives me serious dry eye."
uraraka blinked in confusion, voice lowered to a hushed whisper in fear aizawa would hear her. "dry eye? that doesn't seem like a serious drawback..."
"maybe he can't blink, or something," i murmured in reply.
she sighed exasperatedly, eyes flickering to izuku. "yeah, but that's not half as bad as literally breaking the bones in your body, right?"
"you're wasting my time now. whoever's next can step up." aizawa said, tugging back the scarf. it wrapped weightlessly around his neck once again, his scruffy hair falling back down as he waved his hand in dismissal of bakugo and izuku's conflict.
still, even as izuku gulps and nervously walks back to the group (careful to steer far clear of bakugo,) the question of his new power continued to arise in my mind.

i sighed, letting myself fall to the grass in relief. our classmates gathered, everyone else lying down with labored breaths, the dew-kissed grass a gift sent from the sky when combined with sweat and sweltering heat.
aizawa clicked on the hologram, displaying an azure blue scoreboard.
