the fungi burst out of every surface, covering everything and everyone in the arena. the sunlight shined in tween cracks of the stone wording from fukidashi, making a perfect home for the moisture that the mushrooms so desperately needed to continue tormenting the two girls.
komori grinned, gazing up at the shining clouds through her red and white hat, humming a happy song to herself as she skipped through the pipe-lined hallways.
"uh... they've got shrooms growing on their bodies?" mineta said waveringly, pointing at the screen like the fungi would jump out at him. "this is like a serious horror movie!"
awase laughed, leaning back on his hands nonchalantly. "don't worry, the fungus up 'n disappears in two or three hours tops, which is why she doesn't hold anything back. your classmates will be fine."
"look, they're growing over the camera!" ochaco exclaimed.
jiro fought back a gag and shuddered, shaking her head vigorously. it took several seconds for the violet-haired girl to give up on handling the image, burying her face into the palms of her hands and instructing denki to nudge her when the screen clicked to something else.
meanwhile, tall stone words shot down from the sky like raining gunfire, a repeating ear-splitting tune as fukidashi shouted and leaped through the walls of pipes. his voice of stone created structures almost taller than the concrete columns, shrouding the battling teams in another layer of darkness, and then another again.
hagakure groaned loudly, clawing the mushrooms and grimacing whenever the fungi would take off a patch of skin with it. she jumped and kicked her legs, letting out a scream through a tightly clenched jaw, before jogging a few feet away from momo to walk into a crack of sunlight.
she whipped around moments later, only to find a stone wall in front of her. hagakure let out a despaired sigh, pounding her fists against the stone and shouting out to communicate with momo, who was stuck on the other side.
her vigorous begs and pleas alerted aoyama and tokoyami, who quickly soared down from the sky in search of her. he shot his glittering naval laser at the stone, but having no avail in leaving even the smallest mark.
vlad king let out a short huff, one that could resemble a laugh as he nudged aizawa. "komori and fukidashi came to kuroiro's rescue. now, attacking in waves, they're giving class a's team a hard time from a distance! my kids are showing their superior strength!"
