SPORTS FESTIVAL ARC
— # part onecontent warnings: none.
— UA HIGH WAS closed the day following the incident.
i found myself carrying bowls and plates to the dining table as auntie inko scurried about the kitchen, pink apron loosely tied and swaying in the wind that made way through the open screen door. she hummed to a tune playing on the radio, nodding her head with the music.
sunlight filtered through the kitchen window, shining warm beams along the counters and misted potted flowers placed about. auntie was happy to have the windows wide open, excited for summer's quick arrival.
"get the chopsticks, will you, dear?" she said, smiling back at me with a noise of pity from her lips. "you're just too sweet, helping me out after what happened."
a smile adorned my face, one i didn't have to force my lips into making. "it's no problem."
auntie sighed softly, bringing her arms behind her to tug on the fabric of her apron and loosen it from the knot. "i hope i cooked izuku's food correctly. that all-american-dream plan of his includes such strict diet guidelines. though, i suppose it makes sense. he needs lots of yummy food to fuel those muscles."
"i think it looks good," i said, placing down the utensils.
she smiled warmly, "thank you, dear. would you mind telling izuku that lunch is ready?"
with a nod, i set down the last few sets of chopsticks in my hand. the soft slippers i wore padded against the hardwood floors, carrying me down the hall to izuku's bedroom. an all might sign hung from a thumbtack at the top of his door, 'izuku and syd's hideout' written in crayon from several years ago.
staring at it for a short moment, i smiled even brighter than before.

the villain attack was talk all around musutafu, even through the weekend following the school's closure on friday. since the incident, three press conferences had been held by staff and representatives from the hero public safety commission, all of which sharing the same baseline information and denying answers to any of the reporters' eager questions.
"you guys!" hagakure exclaimed, holding up her phone as it replayed a segment from a news channel, "did you watch the news last night? it was so cool that we got a few seconds of screen time! though, i bet nobody noticed me hanging out in the background..."
shoji gave her a sympathetic look, sighing, "probably not."
"it is difficult to stand out when you're just gloves." ojiro laughed waveringly.
