- WITH A SMALL chuckle, stain's tongue runs along the blade, sending a shockwave through izuku's body and freezing him still. 'my body! did he cut me and i didn't even notice?' izuku winces, his breaths stuttering as his eyes trail to his shoulder- a small cut in his sleeve. 'one graze is all it took?'

stain stands up, walking to izuku's side, "you're not powerful enough. it's not that you predicted my movements. you just left my field of vision and maneuvered so that you'd be able to get a clean shot- but i saw through your plan."

he holds his knive at his side as he walks past izuku. "there are countless false heroes around here who are all talk, but i think you're worthy of staying alive. you're different from these two."

stain stands in front of iida's face, his sword unsheathed.

"wait, don't- stop it!" izuku screams, staring in horror at his friend's face.

the tip of his blade grazes iida's cheek, before he lifts it up and hovers it over his neck.

"get away from him- IIDA!"

as the blade drops down, the gruesome sound of splitting flesh echoes around the alleyway. blood spurts from iida's mouth as the life in his eyes flashes away, the bone of his spine exposed to the cold night air.

stain rips it out, smiling manically as he licks the end of the sword, the small chunks of iida's throat squishing together as they fall into his lips.

my hand clamps over my mouth, a brutal scream poorly hidden as shoto steps back shakily.

"now," stain's head snaps behind him, his bloodthirsty eyes staring at izuku, "it's your turn."

📍HOSU GENERAL HOSPITAL
2:00 a.m.

i gasped, my breath catching in my throat as i shoot up from my bed. the room i'm in seems unfamiliar, for just a moment, as my pupils adjust to the dim light. i look down, my right hand in bandages and a hospital robe covering my body. at my bedside, my bloodied hero costume lays.

the memories from six hours ago crash over me like a wave.

that wasn't real, i sigh, just a dream.

i push the thin blankets off of me, swinging my legs over the side of the bed and slipping on the hospital slides. glancing back at iida, shoto, and izuku in their own respective beds, i quietly slide the door open.
