"FROM THIS MOMENT, the liberation army recognizes tomura shigaraki as grand commander!"

the dark void that permeated throughout the bleak and desolate basement was quickly filled with a cacophony of voices, a gathering of cheer overtaking its interior. celebratory cries of joy resounded in the vast room, directed toward the ominous figure that was previously assumed as the leader of the league of villains.

shigaraki grinned, the other league members standing by his side and serving as a court of loyalty. he leaned back in the large, cushioned chair, crossing one leg over the other like a self-proclaimed king. bandages stretched upon his features, tucked into washed ivory waves of hair and disappearing into his suit and tie.

a long, velvety crimson cape draped over his shoulders, lined with ermine fur.

his movements were effortless and precise, his father's hand being lifted from his face as carmine eyes narrowed down to the people gathered below. "now, we'll do what we want."

the news that had been given on the stage had begun to spread throughout the crowd like a wildfire burning through a forest. even long after the audience dispersed from the event, the gossip and discussion of the newly established commanding generals had reached new heights. hawks found himself amidst a sea of conversation, a bright and toothy grin plastered on his face as members of the army circled him, asking him a myriad of questions about the newly proposed changes in the command.

"long live the liberation!" the number two hero said.

the group around him smiled brightly, "wow, it really is you—!"

"hey." dabi said, expression void of emotion. the group of army members immediately moved back and cleared a path upon seeing him approach, giving no resistance as he moved toward hawks without a sparing glance to his subordinates. "you look happy, number two. up to somethin'?"

hawks flashed a nonchalant smile, bringing up his hand and waving slightly. "nah, man! i was just waitin' for you!"

my brother was temporarily patrolling the areas around musutafu, which meant more opportunities to leave school for my work study.

despite that, the last few days had left a weight of fatigue on my shoulders. i didn't quite know if it was the stress of studying for finals, preparing for second-year classes, or the secret hero meetings that my brother kept leaving me for and refused to tell me about, but the nightmares that came to me every single night kept getting worse.
