- MY FINGERS CURL against the bottom of the plastic seat, the rest of the audience slowly filing back into the stands as the break comes to a close. the platform had been restored- thanks to cementos- as everyone waited in anticipation for the final match.
"hey- woah, sydney! that's a heck of a lot of bandages!" denki exclaims, plopping into his seat next to sero.
i blink, looking down at my forearms. "oh, yeah. i forgot those were there."
izuku's silence is constrained as he stares down at the battle platform, his fingernails tapping anxiously against the cast.
i shifted to the side, fixing his tracksuit jacket from falling off his shoulders and smoothing it back over as the match began.
[ "IT'S TIME FOR THE FINAL BATTLE OF THE UA HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS FESTIVAL! IN JUST A MOMENT HERE, WE'LL SEE WHICH FIRST YEARS COME OUT ON TOP!" ]
the jumbotron displayed bakugo and shoto's faces.
[ "YES, IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS, FOLKS! FROM THE HERO COURSE, SHOTO TODOROKI! VERSUS... HIS CLASSMATE... KATSUKI BAKUGO!" ]
"he looks like he's about to murder someone..." ochaco sighs.
"that's his default."

in a split second, shoto slams his hand onto the concrete, and out comes a glacier that encases the explosive blond and rises to the top of the stadium.
"this isn't like when he attacked sero." izuku says, his eyes daring across the battle platform as he takes in information, "the ice just now was more controlled. he's being cautious."
my eyes narrow as i lean forward in my seat straining my ears, "is that... explosions?"
behind me, mineta raises an eyebrow, "what's that terrible sound?"
"it's got to be bakugo's doing..." tsu says.
the ice of the glacier cracks- and in one final blast, bakugo comes bursting out through his tunnel. shoto jumps back as he blasts himself forward, dodging shoto's right side with an explosion and throwing shoto across the arena.
shoto quickly steadies himself, using his right side to surf an ice wave and successfully preventing himself from going out of bounds. he circles bakugo, meeting him in the center and grabbing bakugo's arm with his left hand.
