ENTRANCE EXAM ARC

— THE SUBSEQUENT MONTHS passed quickly and strangely.
the unruly viridian curls that seemed to engulf izuku's gentle features were found dipped into the crook of his arms more often than not, despite mr. sabita's frequent walks down the aisles of desks to nudge him awake in passing. the freckles scattering his cheeks were sheened with sweat, a stark contrast to izuku's tanned, sun-kissed skin.
he had begun training with someone who had placed him on a specific diet composed of a variety of healthy foods, along with a budget for numerous baskets full of at-home workout equipment — all of which izuku never seemed to set down.
still, i couldn't pour all my focus into figuring out whatever he was keeping under wraps — i had my own U.A. application to fill out, after all.

MARCH.the main campus building stood tall atop the mountains that loomed over musutafu, azure windows gleaming in the bright sun in promise of the highest education we dreamed of.
arches of sparkling marble stretched over the main walkway, decorated with a flurry of elaborate banners and bright balloons of varying colors, each of which cast a kaleidoscope of prisms to the brickwork below. cheerful anticipation enveloped the atmosphere, expressions soft with wonder as izuku and i gazed up at the tall windows overlooking the campus.
we stepped forward to the UA barrier, greeting the blood hero with a polite smile as izuku fell into a series of fanboying mutterings beside me. it wasn't until the two of us were far into the path leading inside campus that he finally calmed down enough to speak.
"we made it," izuku sighed, shoulders sagging in exhaustion. "i can't believe we actually made it. i thought i was gonna die on the train ride."
"now we just gotta pass these exams, and then we're on the road to being heroes. easy peasy."
izuku grinned, replying to my words with a firm nod as he gripped the straps of his yellow backpack. continuing our pursuit further inside the campus, trees of vivid viridian and lush grass on either side greeted us, their vibrant flowers blooming with brilliant colors and welcoming our presence with a gentle breeze.
then, harshly, we're shoved to the side by our shoulders as katsuki struts through the space in between us.
"outta my way!"
"kacchan!" izuku exclaimed, whipping around frighteningly.
katsuki glared at us with ferocity comparable to that of a villain, hands stuffed deep into the pockets of his pants. the blond's stance was in the very same slouch it always was, as if he were completely relaxed and not at all about to take an exam that would determine the course of the rest of our lives.
