TROY WAS LOCATED approximately 30 kilometers from the U.A. barrier. our makeshift headquarters stood along the mountains' cliffside and looked over musutafu, tucked into the confines of a vast forest. sunlight flickered through the trees that lined the concrete-paved entrance, casting fleeting shivers of shade that were soon swallowed by its obsidian walls.

"thanks to cementoss, power loader, and ectoplasm, we were able to get this puppy functional pretty damn quick." snipe said, his smoothly accented voice muffled by the mask over his face. "it's nowhere near as strong as U.A, but it'll do. why don't y'all take your things inside and find your rooms?"

hagakure squealed, excitedly squeezing jiro's shoulder. "this was definitely inspired by our dorms!"

"wow. yeah," she replied.

meanwhile, sero walked up to the gate with a medium-sized cardboard box in his arms, snickering. "nice of them to build a fancy coffin for us, right?"

"dude."

"i'm just sayin'!"

as the boys' nonchalant laughter rang into the building, all that was left to do was unpack the intimidating military-grade moving trucks that stood in stark contrast to our utilitarian surroundings.

the interiors were equipped with features typically utilized for transporting heavy machinery, weapons, anything but the typical belongings of high school students. detective tsukauchi had assured us that the dramatic setup was a deterrent strategy, designed to prevent any residual villains from attempting to infiltrate as we'd left the safety of the U.A. barrier.

scarlet energy curled with my fingers, leaving a familiar little pins-and-needles sensation along my skin. the soft carmine glow of my power wound itself around each of the cardboard boxes in slender, serpentine coils, lifting with ease and carrying them to my classmates' arms.

hagakure chirped her thanks to me, her voice somewhat muffled by the boxes stacked in her hands. ojiro sent her a brief glance, noticed her struggle to balance, and held out a hand in an offer to take them.

"it's weird not having yuga here." mina said, the boxes with bright pink and leopard-print tape obviously hers. "he'd probably be saying something twinkly and breaking the fourth wall right now."

"i know, right?"

"hope he's doing okay."

my attention followed the girls for a moment before shoto's quiet murmurs broke into my mind. hardly difficult to focus on, i found myself unconsciously allocating the rest of our classmates' belongings, my gaze inadvertently wandering off into the distance as i listened to his presumably plaguing thoughts.
