- ON THE OTHER side of the forest, shoji holds izuku on his back. the two stand in front of tokoyami, shoto, and bakugo, the three all wearing various looks of apprehension. they're far away from the fight- where the boys stand- a blanket of almost complete silence over the glade they meet in. smoke clouds the sky, distant yells ever so often, but no sign of their classmates or the villains.
"i don't know if you heard mandalay, but i found out the villains are after syd and kacchan."
a flash of emotion comes across shoto's face, his voice is laced with concern, "bakugo and suzuki? are they trying to kill them? why?"
bakugo's eyebrows furrow, almost as if offended, as he looks between izuku and shoto.
"i'm not sure. but we need to find syd and get back to camp- it's the safest place, now, so long as vlad king and mr. aizawa have regrouped there." izuku winces.
bakugo huffs, still staring blankly at the three of them. his arms cross, eyes narrowing.
tokoyami nods. "i understand, our mission is to bring bakugo and suzuki back to safety by serving as their protectors."
the blond's head whips over to tokoyami, eyes flashing with anger.
"right. i don't know where syd is, but judging on the path of the trail and when her and asu- i mean, tsu, went in, they should be where we are by now... unless... they got caught up with a villain, which means could be anywhere on the trail." izuku murmurs, talking with unmatched speed.
tokoyami stands up, "we might come across some by chance."
"we can use shoji's search ability to find syd, and todoroki's freezing power- and, if tokoyami's okay with it- we can always use dark shadow now that we can actually control him." izuku huffs a laugh, "honestly, with a group like this... we could probably go up against all might."
bakugo scoffs. "i'll be fine by myself!"
"we'll surround you as we walk." shoto says, nodding firmly to izuku and shoji. the boys look into the forest with fervor, ignoring bakugo's fierce protests.
"i don't need any of your protection, dammit!"
shoji looks around them into the trees, arms sprouting ears. "let's go."
"DON'T IGNORE ME!"
"just make sure you keep up." shoto says, a slight smirk on his face as he looks back at the blond.
"DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!"
