Chapter 22: The Woodsprites way

POV: First person, Y/n

Neteyam soon caught to me. I turned to him as I walked.

"You walk slow. What are you a baby," I joked.

"I'm not a baby. I'm just tired that's all... and I was looking at the forest I haven't been here in so long," Neteyam said looking down to watch his steps.

"Should I walk slower for you to savor some moments," I request.

"No no that's okay, really though I'm just tired from running around all day," Neteyam stomach growled. His face immediately flushed terribly.

"We should hurry," I said and gave him a concerned look, "and don't worry I'm hungry too," I pointed to myself. He smiled at this knowing I'm trying to make him feel better.

"Neteyam," I yelled from a tree.

"Woah- woah you don't have to yell," Neteyam got out of the cave we decided to stay.

"Oh sorry," I looked down at the fruits I've found, "here eat it," I handed him all of the fruits.

He just stare at me with emotional eyes of gratefulness. I pushed the fruit to him and pressed it against his mouth.

"Eat it," I told him and raised a brow, "aren't you hungry,"

"Oh yeah, right... Thanks," he stepped back a bit and took the fruit off my hands.

We sat down in the cave side by side, eating our fruit in silence. It was dark but the only thing that was lighting up was Neteyam and I's skin. Little white specks shown. Although I glowed a bit, my focus was the person next to me.

He is a beautiful site. I would say that anything he does is magnificent and graceful.

I broke our munching silence, "do you glow neon pink when you blush," I bluntly ask.

"What? No no I don't. I-I don't think so?" He blabbered with a nervous laugh.

"So you don't know,"

"Yeah I guess so," he continued to munch his fruits, his tail wagged around as well.

I stopped his tail from moving. This touch made him chock on his fruit. He roughly coughed while I continue to hold his tail staring at him.

"H-hey you almost killed me there," he cried out and looked at me then at my hand and his tail.

He blushed but didn't glow pink. I grazed my finger tips against his tail. He jolted and blushed harder. He put down his fruit, put his hands on his face and turned away from my view.

"Uh Y/n are you trying to continue what we started at the demon ship," Neteyam asked.

"No, I'm trying to see if you glow neon pink," I respond, "but I guess you don't," I let go of his tail.

His ear droop slightly. Seemly gave a disappointed look. I chuckled and got up.

"I'm going to look for some woodsprites," I said and turned back at Neteyam, "and you will stay here,"

"I can help,"

"Nope stay,"

"Y/n I can not be useless here,"

"You're not.. just sit here and look pretty ok," I smiled, "Kíyevame (goodbye, see you soon),"

As moments pass, I began to lose hope in finding the woodsprites.

Until finally, "oh Eywa finally found you guys," I gasped

"Now stay here please. I need to get my... acquaintance," I said in questions to myself.

What really do I see Neteyam as?

"You're back.... I was really worried for you," Neteyam got up from his seating position.

"You don't need to worry," I smiled at him, "come on I found the woodsprites, they'll light out the way to my home," I walked back, he trailed along.
