S:
"I'm glad you decided to come hang out with us." I know it probably wasn't all that fun, but it does mean a lot.
I already know this isn't our last Christmas together, because once we have two kids, we're kind of tied to one another for awhile...
"I had a really great time, Stevie. Thank you," he's so nice... almost too nice, and I think it's only because we're stuck in a sticky situation.
He's probably walking on egg shells, trying to please me... He wants to be part of the babies lives, so I'm certain he's constantly trying to win himself brownie points.
"And your girls are very sweet." He chuckles softly as he follows me back into the living room.
"Thank you, Lindsey." I don't have it in my heart to tell him the truth.
I would rather have him believe that they're both just sweet and innocent girls... If he sticks around her long enough, he'll know what's up.
"What do you wanna do? We can watch a movie? Listen to music?" It's been a long time since I've had to entertain someone.
"Umm," he half smirks, watching me collapse onto the arm of the sofa. "Let's look through these bad boys." He trails towards the record player in the far corner of the living room.
"I can't remember the last time I played a record." I bite down on my bottom lip, smiling softly as he starts to gently shuffle through them.
"We're gonna dust em' off." He chuckles, scanning over each title as I sit not far from him, just watching."
"So? Do you have any family you saw earlier today?" I slide over, so instead of sitting on the arm of the couch, I'm actually sitting on a cushion.
I feel like it's appropriate to ask those sort of questions- we should be asking one another a lot within the next couple of months.
"Actually, no." He shakes his head, "My mother and my brother are both in Northern California." He assures as he pops back up from the floor. "How about this one?" He holds up the Eric Clapton album... the same one Betsy was obsessed with for most of her childhood.
Nodding lightly, I let out a little chuckle.
After he sets the vinyl on the turntable, he turns up the volume slowly. "Will you dance with me?" He holds out his hand, half smirking.
He's such an attractive man, he really is. And not only does he have good looks, but he also has a personality like very few men nowadays.
"Of course," I push myself up off the couch, taking his hand the moment I steady myself up.
"The last time we did this you were a little less balanced." He recalls the wedding- when I was completely plastered and a little more wild.
I let out a laugh, gently patting his arm as we sway back and forth.
It's romantic, it really is- more romance than I've had in a long time. I don't know if he makes me feel younger, or wanted... but whatever it is, I like it. I don't like how complex it seems to be, but I do like the feeling I get when I'm with him. I know I shouldn't let my heart wander so willingly, but when I'm almost five months pregnant with his babies- it's hard not to. Like I said, I'm over the whole dating thing, so we can simply be friends for the time being. I think that would be better than anything at the moment.
"I've got a little more baggage these days." I smirk, raising a brow softly.
I can feel his fingers dance across the small of my back as he pulls me in to kiss the top of my head. "It looks good on you, Stevie." He keeps his lips pressed against my forehead, which causes my entire body to shiver.
Looking up slowly, our eyes lock immediately. He has the most perfect blue orbs... those are eyes I could only hope our children get. They're like oceans- far and wide, yet full of secrets and stories.
"Thank you," I mumble, sighing lightly as he pulls me into himself a little more.
He slowly leans down, while I push myself up so our lips can meet. "You're so gorgeous," he whispers as he brings his hands up to my face, cradling it softly.
"You're so sweet," I whisper back.

L:Just as my hand slips into her long blonde hair, the sound of my phone fills the room.
"What's that?" She creases a brow, listening intently.
"That's my phone, but we'll just let it ring." I shrug, pulling her in.
She starts to giggle, head meeting my chest.
Beautiful really is an understatement- she's extraordinary.
"It's ringing again..." she pulls me back into reality, raising a brow lightly. "I think you should get it." She adds, pushing away from me slowly.

S:I try not to listen, but I can't help it. It's a woman on the other end- I can tell by how high pitched the voice is. I also know that it's the same lady I've known about.... the girlfriend.
The moment he shuts his phone off, he turns back towards me. "Stevie, I-" He's going to make up some excuse, I know he is, so I decide that I'll save us both.
"Go, Lindsey." I hold up my hand, cutting him off because I don't want to listen to lies.
I listened to lies for half my marriage, and I won't ever do it again.
"I'm really sorry," he looks sorry, but that the same time, he really doesn't.
"I'll see you next month for their appointment, yes?" I don't want to see him before that, and I won't want to see him after... not until I have the babies.
"We need to talk about this." He sighs, eyes almost sad.
"I think you need to go, Lindsey."
