"Here, baby." Lindsey sets the glass of deep red wine down next to me, kissing my head before he falls into the chair across the table.

"Thank you, Lindsey." Leaning back in my chair, I let out content sigh as I watch the kids take turns going down the slide to hit the water in our pool.

It's been a morning full of phone calls of wonderful birthday wishes already.

And all four of my girls even called to ask if I wanted to go out to the bar to celebrate, or Mary offered to make dinner for us at her house. And as much as I appreciate all of it- I would much rather spend this day right here with three of my favorite people.

This is the most wonderful way to turn another year older in my opinion.

"How are you today?" Lindsey turns his attention from the kids, towards me, a smile dancing across his face.

"I'm great," nodding my head, I slip my sunglasses back down to shield my eyes from the bright May sun. "It's so nice out," I whisper it, because the calm is so soothing... I mean, after I look past the sound of my kids loud laughs and light screams when they splash into the pool. But that makes it all the more special, really.

"It is," he nods lightly, "Let's go for a swim, pretty woman." He quickly pops out of the chair, holding his hand out for me to take, but I hold off a moment.

"I just-" before I get the chance to tell him that I just did my hair, he gently pulls me out of the chair and into his arms. "Honey," I giggle lightly, playfully rolling my eyes.

"Come swim with our babies and I," he wraps his arms around my waist, finger circling the small of my back.

Biting on my bottom lip, I look down at my black cover up, wondering how blinding I'd be without it on. I'm not saying I don't like my body- I'm just saying that at my age, things don't look the same anymore. Wearing a swimsuit isn't all that ideal to me nowadays, especially at my super wonderful age of fifty- four.

"You're beautiful, Steph." It's like he can read my mind, or maybe I'm just too predictable. "Come on," he starts pulling up my dress.

"Okay, stop it." I laugh, smacking his chest lightly.  "Let's go then." I take his hand in mine, tangling my fingers in his.

Suddenly, I can't really remember the last time I was in the pool. I mean, I've been around it and I've even dipped a toe in, but swimming has never been my cup of tea. But I did promise Hudson that I would swim for my birthday and I always keep my promises.

"Daddy! Mommy!" Lena shouts, thrilled the moment she catches a glimpse of us.

"You're swimming?" Hudson's paddling around the edge, a wide smile plastered to his face as he makes his way towards me.

"I told you I wanted to spend my day swimming with you." I smile softly, trailing down the stairs carefully.

"You look great..." Lindsey reminds me.

Throwing my head back, I let out another laugh as I step into the water. "I'm sure," rolling my eyes lightly, the shivers flow up my body from the slight chill.

"Daddy, will you throw me?" Helena asks, a big smile on her sweet face.

"Of course, I will." He lets out a chuckle as he scoops her in his arms. "You ready?" He asks, holding her up by the underneath of her armpits.
