Jimin was at home, cooking some soup for her 3rd anniversary dinner for her girlfriend, Minjeong.  Meanwhile Minjeong was at work as usual until nighttime. Her girlfriend would come home around 10pm but today, she arrived home earlier than usual.

The sound of the door beeps open and Jimin halted with confusion. It's only 8:00pm. Jimin thought to herself as she proceeded to chop the carrots. Whenever Minjeong gets home she'd always say something upon entering the house but today, she was quieter than usual. It kind of concerned Jimin.

"Baby?" Jimin calls out from the kitchen.

There was no answer.

Then a second later a loud thud startled Jimin. She knew something wasn't right.

Dropping the knife on the counter, she ran for the door and the moment she saw Minjeong on the ground, her eyes widened and her heart sank.

"Minjeong!" She ran over to the younger one full of fear.

The younger girl was struggling to breathe, sweat trickling down her face, and she looked paler than usual. Jimin panicked, she didn't know what was wrong. She touched Minjeong's face and she's shocked at how burning hot her face was.

"Baby..can I.. water.." her voice was shallow, Jimin could almost barely hear her.

"Ok." Jimin's voice was trembling. Never in her life has she seen Minjeong get this sick before. She ran to the fridge to grab a cold water bottle, rushing back to the younger girl.

Minjeong tried to sit up by herself but she couldn't gather the strength to.

The older girl opened the bottle and carefully fed some water to the younger girl.

"How did you get like this?" Jimin's worriedly mumbled, she helped the younger girl up and onto the couch.

Jimin helped remove the blazer off of Minjeong and unbutton a couple buttons on her shirt so the younger girl could feel less tense.

The soup had to wait, what was important at the moment was Minjeong. She's worried something bad might happen if she didn't do anything about it. "Don't move, okay?" Jimin went up the stairs and came back with two cold wet towels.

She moved Minjeong's bangs out of the way, setting the cold towel on the younger girl's forehead, slightly twitching from the cold towel against her burning forehead. With another cold towel, Jimin gently rubbed it over Minjeong's cheeks.

Minjeong grabbed the older girl's wrist from rubbing her face, looking at the girl in front of her with fear in her eyes. She can tell Jimin was really worried. "Babe, I'm fine..you'll get sick if you're near me."

"No you're not fine." Jimin replied.

"I don't care if I'll get sick, I'm doing it because I love you and I want you to feel better." Jimin added, holding Minjeong's hand for comfort.

Jimin saw tears running down Minjeong's eyes.
"I'm sorry." Minjeong's voice trembling, whispered. "I'm sorry for ruining our anniversary." She broke down crying.

Jimin slightly frowned at the younger girl as she brushed her thumbs over Minjeong's face. She also felt like crying but now probably wasn't the best time to cry.

"No, baby it's okay." Jimin smiled softly. Her eyes are a little watery.

"Spending time with you, taking great care of you is much more important to me for tonight, babe." Jimin responded.

Minjeong loves the way Jimin smiles through any situation, any moment in her life. It makes her feel at ease. Her smile could be the medicine that could heal her.

She looked into Minjeong, gazing into her eyes as she slightly cupped the younger one's face. Giving a worried but easy smile.

"I love you." Jimin added.

Minjeong felt touched, she felt better when Jimin was around.

"You mean it?" Minjeong asked, sniffling.

Jimin smiled as she continued to rub the towel onto the younger girl's face gently. "Yes, I mean it." Jimin removed the towel on the younger girl's forehead and touched her skin once more to check if the fever was gone.

She sighed in relief when she felt Minjeong's fever went down. Both girls smile, meeting each other's gleaming eyes. "I'll go heat up the tofu soup for you." Jimin said as she headed to the kitchen to reheat the soup in the pot. Luckily she got the soup finished and forget about the carrots, there wasn't any time to add them in.

She came back and this time, Minjeong was able to sit up by herself. Jimin sat right beside Minjeong, slowly blowing on the soup until it got less hot and looked at the younger girl with a smile.

"Open wide~"

Minjeong chuckled a little before eating a spoonful of soup.

It brought an even bigger smile onto Jimin's face when the younger girl's eyes lit up. "Baby, your soup tastes amazing!" Minjeong slightly exclaimed, grabbing the spoon for more.

"Careful, don't burn yourself!" Jimin chuckled.

Even if their anniversary took an unexpected turn, they'll always find a way to make it memorable. Just like this one.

"Happy 3rd anniversary, Minjeong."
