• MINJEONG • I was on my way to pick my girlfriend up from school, but I thought I'd passed by a gift shop to pick up some fresh flowers and chocolates for Jimin.
It just felt like a must do type of thing. I wanted to do this because I loved seeing that ear to ear smile displayed on Jimin's face.
With a bouquet of roses and Chocolates in my hands, I sat on the bench outside of Jimin's college campus with a smile on my face.
A couple people were looking at how I was holding a bunch of Roses and a chocolate tray in my other hand.
"Oh!" Someone exclaimed from beside Me. I looked over to see someone rather familiar.
"Oh hey Ryujin!" it was Jimin's fellow classmate and her friend.
"Are those for Jimin??" she pointed with an amazed smile.
"It is! You think she'll like it?"
"Girl, she'll LOVE it." Ryujin set her hand on my shoulder.
The answer was relieving, because I hoped Jimin would like it.
"Well, she'll be out soon." Ryujin looked at her watch with a smile. Just then I saw Ryujin looking up to see Jimin beside a man roughly her age smiling and chatting
But when I saw Ryujin's smile quickly fade, I looked over to find Jimin kissing another man.
It's a rather long one, it felt as if time stopped and froze. And Ryujin, in her every power, tried to cover my eyes as quickly as she could but she's too late. I already saw it before Ryujin's hand covered my sight.
It took a few seconds for me to process that my own girlfriend kissed another man.
Did I know what to do? No, my body felt like it lost sense, heart felt like it was slowly dying.
What killed me the most was knowing that at the end of the kiss, she smiled.
Jimin smiled.
She smiled bigger than the first time I had kissed her. Brighter than the ones I wake up to every morning.
"Minjeong.." I could hear Ryujin's genuinely worried tone.
I was too shocked to even feel right. But one thing for sure was that my heart felt like it was shattering into tiny pieces.
I saw Jimin look over at me and just when I saw her eyes meet mine, I could see her face turning pale. She knew she messed up. Yet she acted as if nothing happened.
"Baby, you're here!" Jimin nervously chuckled at me and I forced a hard smile, holding back strained tears. Looking at Jimin only made it worse but I had to hold it in.
By the time Jimin's eyes looked down to see a huge bouquet of flowers and chocolates in my hand, I could really see the look of guilt eating her alive.
On the way home I drove silently because I cared most about the tears I was trying to hold back, they could flood my eyes almost right away if I started talking.
And I didn't bother looking at her a single bit of the way. I don't know what she's thinking, I don't know how she felt at the moment, I don't want to know.
I don't even know how I'm supposed to feel. outraged? Sad? Upset? I'm not sure.
And when I arrived home I grabbed the bouquet and the chocolates and walked inside without opening the door for her like I usually do, and i'm pretty sure that in the tense air between us, she knows something I don't.
"Minjeong." I heard her call from the entrance of our house.
I turned around, looking to the ground.
"Why won't you look at me baby?"
I can tell she was trying to be careful around me, but hearing her soft gentle voice, I felt anger rush up my body.
And I wished I didn't feel so pissed .
"Why would you ask me that?" my voice muttered.
and that's when I finally looked her in the eyes and I wasn't wrong, I could feel tears welling up and the lump in my throat grew.
"You know why, don't you?" I asked.
"You kissed someone else."
"You kissed someone else!" I screamed words of pain as the flowers and chocolates were thrown on the ground in front of Jimin.
"I wanted to surprise you, I wanted to give you what I can." I said through tears.
"I just wanted to love you.."
"But..but you just-" I screamed out of frustration.
I've done everything I can for Jimin. Loved her from day one, gave her all that I could, cared for her all that I could.
At the end she's just there for another man.
