HERES A CORNY STORY FOR U GUYSS >:P
It's a pretty evening. one that's really beautiful, it's hard not to not look at.
The sounds of silent wind, the perfect temperature warming her body and the view of the evening sky.
She lets out a relaxed sigh, sinking onto the bench near the pretty flowers growing.
She loves how the bench was directly in front of the sunrise. It's her favorite spot to watch the sun go down.
Watching the sunset was all she really did nowadays. It was better than sitting in her dark room staring at the tv screen with no meaning.
Or better than spending her time with that girl.
Really, anything but that. The sunset made her forget the bad things.
But really, it isn't really a bad thing.
She kicks her feet, hearing the bottom of the shoe chisel against the pavement.
But the untied shoe caught her attention, bending over to tie it when she heard a few footsteps inch closer to her.
The familiar shoes were in the frame.
The bitter feeling in her stomach started to appear, making the atmosphere around her fall in eerie silence.
It's the pretty girl she likes, with the pretty smile across her lips. The same ones that managed to melt winter like ice cream.
"Minjeong," Karina smiles, sitting beside her on the bench.
She felt as if her heart rate dropped, her body turning still for unknown reasons.
"It's a pretty evening, right?" Karina adores the sunset, the same one Winter was staring at.
But to winter, the sunset was now just a boring shining light.
"This is a perfect place to really hangout, you're good at picking places like these." Karina spoke again, realizing how not a single word had come out of Winter's mouth.
"Look, I got you your favorite drink." The older girl proceeded to pull out a bottle of strawberry milk.
Winter didn't need to look to know what drink it was, She knew what it was already. She loved drinking it with Karina on evenings like these.
But Jimin watches the girl beside her, Minjeong kicking her feet in silence.
She knew. Yet she didn't know what to do about it.
Ever since word was out, winter did everything without Karina.
Winter refused to let a single tear sting her eyes. She's strong, she can handle it right? It's just some friend she likes.
She can stop her liking for Karina right?
"Minjeong..I'm sorry." Her voice comes out as a whisper.
She didn't want to look at her but the moment she laid eyes on Karina it was nearly impossible.
"Look, it's okay Jimin. I'm alright, you don't need to apologize." Winter looked up at the girl.
Was it supposed to feel like this? She promised herself she wouldn't have a problem with the other girl.
"No Minjeong, you're not okay." She lets her hand over Minjeong's.
Her heart felt as if it shattered into pieces at the sight of Karina.
She retracts her hands away from the girl. "I'm trying really hard to be happy, okay?"
Never had such words kept Karina silent.
She didn't need to look closely to realize the tears the younger girl was trying to hold.
She knew how much Winter liked her, yet it all took a different turn for the best.
Minjeong looks away in an attempt to hide the tears. "Don't worry about it, soon I'll forget about all of this and you'll be happy and I'll be happy."
"What do y-"
"Let's just leave each other alone Karina. It's for the best. For you and for me." She stands up, the tone in her voice shaking uncontrollably.
It hurts seeing the look of betrayal in Karina's eyes. The way her lips parted in silence. Winter hates this moment more than anything.
The moment this was all over, this was going to be the last time she was going to see Karina.
But it's not a bad thing.
"The evening is pretty.." Her voice comes out as a whisper.
"Maybe you can come here with him to watch the sunset, it's a great place."
Each step she took away from Karina only brought tears that would hurt her more and more.
She thought maybe leaving the park would help, only to leave her trembling with tears in front of the empty playground.
Finding that the one you really love most loving someone else isn't a bad thing.
Regardless, loving them means understanding that sometimes the love you have for them isn't like what they have for you.
And that's okay. Not everything in the world can be cupcakes and sprinkles to your liking.
But just try to accept it, even if you don't like it.
I'll be back when I think it's okay to be back, I won't stop writing in general tho ;)
