It's early morning and Jimin is up sitting in her office at home, writing down some ideas for Minjeong's upcoming birthday. The early red blood sunrise bleeding through the window and the sounds of chirping birds fill the room. It was harder than Jimin thought when listing down ideas for her girlfriend's birthday but she came up with a few ideas. Outdoor dinner date, cruise vacation, shopping at the mall and spoiling her, or the arcade. The problem was, half of those things were already done the past years they've been together, with each year that goes by it gets harder and harder to find something new to do for Minjeong. The least she could do was to celebrate her birthday at home, watching a movie which sounds kinda boring.
Then Jimin heard footsteps padding behind the door. She turns around to find Minjeong awake, standing at the door with Jimin's huge baggy shirt on, rubbing her sleepy eyes. The older girl smiled seeing the younger one awake at such an early time. Usually Minjeong would wake up in the afternoon but she's up rather early today. Specifically, 6:46 in the morning.
"Baby You're up so early." Jimin tucked the paper of ideas away and spun her chair over.
"You weren't in bed, so I woke up." Minjeong yawned, scratching her neck. Jimin patted her lap signaling the younger girl to come over to her.
Minjeong walked over to the older girl, sitting on her lap and resting her head on Jimin's shoulder. She looks at the younger girl placing a gentle kiss on her forehead.
"Sorry about that, I was just busy this morning." Jimin replied.
"You're always busy every morning." Minjeong jokingly snarled, wrapping her arms around the older girl. Each morning Jimin wakes up to either cook breakfast for both Minjeong and her, clean the entire house, or in general work on things for her job. So it's a rare occurrence if Minjeong ever wakes up to see Jimin by her side in bed.
"I know, baby but who'll cook you food in the morning, wake you up and clean the house for you?" The more Minjeong thinks about it, she hasn't helped Jimin a single bit around the house, all she does is wake up, eat and sleep. She kind of feels bad for not helping out, but it's not too late to change right?
Minjeong Jumped off of Jimin's lap, leaving the older girl confused. "Where are you going?"
Minjeong walked out the office door and into the kitchen, yelling from afar. "I'm gonna cook us breakfast!" Then the sound of clattering pans and dishes hit each other, startling Jimin.
She jumped up and ran over to the kitchen to see Minjeong standing there with a guilty look on her face. Jimin frowned and walked over to the younger girl and saw a mess of shattered dishes on the kitchen floor. Minjeong looked over at Jimin, frowning as she fidgeted her fingers.
"Sorry.." Minjeong quietly spoke. She felt embarrassed, and felt like crying. She's afraid the older girl might yell at her and scold her for the mess she made. Then she started crying as she watched Jimin clean up the shattered plates.
Jimin looked up after hearing tiny whimpering sounds coming from behind her, she saw Minjeong crying and it made her feel weak to see the younger girl cry. She got up from the ground and wrapped her arms around Minjeong, patting her head.
"It's okay baby, don't cry." Jimin looked over at Minjeong, wiping her teary eyes dry. The younger girl still felt ashamed and embarrassed from what she did.
"Minjeong you only broke two plates, it's alright!" Jimin chuckled, pointing at the shattered plates on the ground. Minjeong however, refused to look at the mistake she made as it'll only make her more upset.
"But I broke one of your favorite plates." Minjeong weeped. Jimin slightly giggled and cupped the younger girl's cheeks.
"Baby, it's still alright even if you broke my favorite plate."
Jimin knew this would happen anyway because of Minjeong's past mistakes in the kitchen. She once almost burned the house down by microwaving a burger wrapped in tin foil. Luckily she arrived home just in time that night to stop Minjeong.
"I'm still sorry.." Minjeong sulked, nuzzling her face into the older girl's neck. Jimin rubbed Minjeong's back, kissing the top of her head.
"It's okay baby."
"Why don't you go wash up and I'll teach you how to cook?" The older girl suggested. Minjeong looked up to see Jimin smiling, it made her smile as she nodded her head and left for the bathroom.
__________
"Okay, grab the frying pan Minjeong."
Minjeong looked around and pointed at the pan. "This thing?" Jimin nodded and giggled a little.
Minjeong grabbed the pan and placed it on the stove. "Hey, at least you know the pan goes on the stove!" Jimin jokes, the younger girl smiles and playfully slaps the older girl on the arm as both of them laugh.
"Alright, now carefully grab two eggs in the fridge." Jimin Instructed the younger girl, watching her from afar. Minjeong ran to the fridge and grabbed two eggs, and returned safely to the stove.
"Doing good so far!" Jimin replied. Minjeong smiled and stared at the eggs. She blinked and looked back to the older girl with a blank look in her eyes.
"I..don't know how to crack the eggs-" Minjeong mumbled. Jimin laughed and grabbed an egg and showed Minjeong how to crack one.
"Slightly hit it just hard enough to crack it open, then rip it." Surprisingly, Minjeong was like a natural with egg cracking. The older girl was impressed.
_________After some time, Minjeong finished cooking with Jimin and sat down at the table with a plate of eggs and sausages in front of her. She was hungry and ready to dig in.
Jimin watched the younger girl eat, resting her head on her hands. "Eat well, my baby."
Minjeong replied with a mouthful of food.
"I will!"
