Flu Shot

Winter loves Karina. She really does, but sometimes Karina can do the most darn things a person can do.

Winter set an appointment without Karina knowing for a flu shot and as simple as it is, Karina wasn't making it any easier.

"Come Jimin, let's go!"

"Wait! Just give me a second." Karina nervously replied.

She kneeled to the ground on the sidewalk and began untying her shoe and tying it back up slowly.

Winter was staring at Karina, shaking her head in ridicule. "Babe, your shoes were already tied." Winter sighs.

"Just making sure they're tied right." Karina laughs.

She's met with winter's eyes. "Karina, I know you don't want to go."

The older girl just pouts because it was true. She was scared of needles and getting a flu shot wasn't her favorite.

"I don't wanna get a shot."

"I know baby, but it's for your own good." Minjeong lets out an easy smile. Easy enough to calm Jimin down.

"Will you be near me?" The older girl grabs onto Winter's hand

"I'll be right beside you." Minjeong gently pecks Karina on the lips.

She trusted Winter's words and the moment they got to the doctors office, the younger girl made sure to hold onto Karina's hand.

But when the doctor came in, Karina started feeling nervous.

"Hi! I'm Dr. Kang Seulgi." Winter and Karina greet her with a bright smile.

"Someone's getting their flu shot?" Seulgi asks.

There was a look of doubt and worry on Karina's face and Seulgi chuckled at how obvious Karina was.

"Seems like you're the one getting it." Karina felt like a kid.

She nods to the question, grappling onto Winter's arm for dear life.

"Alright, then I'll be right back with the materials." And with that, Seulgi leaves the room.

"Baby I'm scared!" Karina whines.

"Karina, it's only one shot, okay? I'll be right here." Winter runs her hands over Jimin's trembling hand.

"But that won't be enough, I'll still be scared!" Karina complains.

In return Winter just chuckled, bringing her hands up to cradle Karina's face. "Trust me baby. If you want, I'll do anything you want me to do so you can feel better."

"No tiny needle will make my baby girl scared." Both girls laughed as it echoed throughout the room.

"Take deep breaths Karina, you're okay." Winter presses a kiss at the girl's temple.

It goes silent for a bit as Karina takes deep breaths. "This won't do." The older girl mumbled.

Winter turns to look at Karina as if she heard something. "Hm?"

Just then the door opens and the second Karina sees the shot, she gulps with a frown.

"Okay, I'm back." Seulgi smiles.

Winter stares into Karina's wary hazel eyes.

"Are you ready?"

Winter Leans near Karina, whispering something. "I'll be right here."

As Seulgi prepares the needle, Karina stares as her heart pounds. On the other hand Winter just thought every way she could calm Karina down.

Last time Karina had a flu shot, she ran out of the room and cried the entire day. Thinking of that day sent frightening chills up Minjeong's spine.

It was like being with a kid.

Karina closes her eyes when she feels a cold wipe come in contact with her arm.

Winter was nervous already. It felt as if she was the one getting a shot.

And before Seulgi could get the needle into Karina's arm, the girl yells.

"Wait! Wait!" Karina yields.

"What's wrong Rina?" Minjeong asked.

"Doc, before I get that thing in my arm," Karina points at the needle In Seulgi's Hand.

"Can I have her sit on my lap as you stab that thing in my arm?" Karina grabs onto the younger girl's hand.

Being shocked wasn't a word Winter would describe this situation. She was a flustered blushing mess and looking at Karina in shock wasn't helping.

"Rina-"

"Baby you said that you'll do whatever calms me down." Now Winter felt embarrassed for some reason.

"Baby, that's too far!" Winter silently snarls.

"If that'll calm you down then I suppose so!" Seulgi laughs at the couples bickering.

"Wait really?" Winter questions.

She sees Seulgi nod in approval and without hesitation Karina pulls Winter onto her lap.

Although it was weird doing this in front of the doctor, it felt nice being close to the girl she loves and that's what Karina wanted.

Karina wraps one arm around Winter's waist as her other arm gets occupied by a needle.

And to ensure Karina was alright, Winter ran soothing patterns over the older girl's hand.

"Just look away if you're scared." Seulgi insists.

Karina decides to look into Winter's eyes, seeking comfort in them and it felt as if it was working.

Even if Karina was squeezing the hell out of the younger girl's waist, what mattered to Winter was how Karina got through it all.

"Done!" Seulgi cheers.

"That wasn't bad! And to finish, you got a hello Kitty band aid!" Seulgi smiled.

As Seulgi walks out of the room, Karina looks at her arm where the pink bandage with Hello Kitty was displayed, giggling to herself.

She turns to look at Winter, who was still chilling on her lap. "Look, baby! I did it!"

"See, You did it!" Both girls cheered.

Karina doesn't waste any time to pull Winter in for a kiss because without winter, she would've never been able to do it.

"I love you baby" Karina speaks against the soft lips.

"I love you more" Winter chuckles.

"Now let's go buy some dessert!" Winter cheers.

"Dessert?" The older girl repeated.

"Any dessert you want because you didn't run away from the flu shot." Karina laughs at Winter's response.

"I love you so much baby!" Karina wraps her arm around Winter but yelps in pain.

"Easy there," winter laughs.
