- The Next Day -
I barely made it, all that traffic. It was so fucking much.
I had to go through a busy day at Metropolis just to even get to my trade school. I know I'm going to have alot to do, I have mechanics to learn, then my job is an electrician apprentice which pays alright, enough for me to get by.
I sigh as I force myself to go inside school, I always try to remember that I'm learning as many trades as I can. I already know alot about home repair and landscaping. I even have plans to learn about legal trades like a paralegal or reality.
My white haired friend greets me, mockingly. "Hey sleepytime how's things going?"
"Not now Salvus, I'm not in the mood." I dismiss his teasing.
"You've got to be honest, you DO look a lot sleepy." Salvis pointed out.
- Salvus is a white haired, dark eyed 19 year old. He is 6 feet tall and has a light figure. His power is Gemini and his range is a 5.7 -
Feeling like teasing him back I say back to him. "Hey have you found your soulmate?"
"No." He replied disappointed. "My black mark is still there." He touched his shoulder.
"Aha too fucking bad." I grinned. "Now if you'll excuse me, I've got fuel injectors to learn."
I kept on walking towards my class, Salvus catches up to me and begins "Hey I've got a solution with the whole mark thing, what if you date a girl that doesn't have a mark?"
"Thanks, I've considered it but since we're talking about a situation where only 1 out of 500,000 are born without one and usually its found anyways, its kind of just pointless." I sighed and brushed it off. "Besides I'd rather have way too much power than 99.9% of the population and have no lover."
Just saying that statement hurt my heart, but I've learned to enjoy that emotional pain. I'm just glad others can't see I'm hurting.
"Oof, alright. If you insist." Salvus shrugged. "I've got a class on AC repair too so I'll catch you later. You wanna have a match later?"
I looked at him dead serious in the eye while holding onto the door frame that led to my class. "You idiot you know you're going to lose again."
"Yeah but I wanna try again, I really think I can do it this time." Salvus insisted.
I'm a 9.3 range in Energy Manipulation and you're a 5.7 range in Gemini, what do you think is going to happen?
"Sure, why not." I answered. "I'll see ya."
- Some Time Later......-
My education was done for the day and I was honestly ready for something to eat but I remembered I made a deal with Salvus and I had to wait for him behind the building.
"Heeeyyy thanks for waiting!" He popped out from nowhere.
"No problem."
"So you ready to fight? I've been honing my skills and I think I can take you down this time!" Salvus pointed his thumb towards himself whilst talking.
"Come on give me your best." I yawned.
He fired a jet storm in my direction, the winds were pretty strong not going to lie but I could block it up using my energy powers.
I changed the direction of energy of the winds and countered the winds back to him, which blew him off his feet.
"That's your honed skills?" I shake my head.
"You know my range is higher than average! So don't mock me!" He generated air clones of himself.
He was correct, the average range for an adult is 3.0 whereas he is barely an adult and is already a 5.7, but I don't know how I'm a 9.3 range and I'm only 18.
"Couldn't be harder! I spun several energy discs at the clones and made them vanish, it was easy to tell what was a clone and what wasn't. The clones are usually transparent.
I decelerated the energy of his body so he would grow tired much quicker, he took notice and summoned up 7 tornados to his disposal and surrounded me with them.
"Like what you see?" Salvus felt a bit proud of himself, he managed to surround Metropolis' Great Nine."Could be better." I spun blue energy around me, I generated an energy storm around me. I destroyed the tornados easily without breaking a sweat.
I turn to Salvus and I say to him "I think you'd like this better!"
I fired a gigantic energy beam at him and unleashed more energy than a Bugatti Chiron could ever produce.
He manages get out of the way fast enough so that I didn't kill him, he looks at me and huffs out "OK maybe not, I still got some catching up to do."
I sap the energy back into my hand and reply "Maybe when you're an 8 ranger then maybe we can have a proper fight?"
"How am I supposed to become an 8 ranger? It's already super different to go up to range 6!" Salvus declares out of frustration.
"Good question, that's up to you. I have work to attend to and I'm late!?" I exclaimed looking at my watch. "Shit um I'll catch you up later sorry!" I rushed my out of there.
Since I'm late I force energy into my body and run at sound speeds to get to my destination, I couldn't afford to be late. Literally.
