Chapter 12: Light The Spark

- Daniel's Office -

"About earlier..."

"I know I feel terrible! I know I'm fucking powerful but I left myself loose and-" I immediately was interrupted.

"We have a license from the governments to take all actions necessary to stop advanced crime. Those men you lifted the burden of life from? They were running an illegal drug trade for months and their sales had causes thousands of medical cases. That's to put it lightly, you did exactly what was necessary. Most people rank out usually around 5.0 so there was not many people who could have stopped them in the first place." Daniel explained to me. "Aurora Defense usual stands by avoiding physical harm if possible but if not, then we must take action."

"So I'm not going to get arrested?" I asked.

"No, again like I said earlier, we have a license from the governor to take harmful action." Daniel repeated.

He glanced over at a picture of when he was young, he looked like he was full of energy and he had teammates by his said as well.

"We were Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta and Omega." He remembered his youth. "My team and I were the originals, we fight and saw every advanced crime imaginable. Emerson I expect you to carry on that legacy, that's why you're call name is Alpha, your future teammates once hired will also be refereed by the rest of the originals too."

I pondered with the idea, it was honorable really that he decided I was complete fit to not only take on as a leader but also to inherent his call name.

"What was you're last mission. I'm just kinda wondering." My curiosity led me to thus question.

He leaned back in his chair and sighed. "Last mission was about several months ago. I only had Delta with me, the rest of them had died in combat. We were investigating a rapist group that would regularly commit mass amounts of rape and attacks. Delta and I found the group and fought them, somehow they managed to kill Delta. I don't know how but they did, it was so heartbreaking to see my last teammate die. Out of rage I amped up my game and killed all of them, with a tear in my eye. It was possible because I was a 9.5 then and now."

"I'm sorry ab-"

"You didn't kill them. Don't say sorry." Daniel sighed and got up. He grabbed some business cards and gave them to me. "What matters is that you rebuild the team. Find your Beta, Gamma, Delta and Omega. Find them and take down these threats. I fear that they may get worse and while you as a 9.3 could take them down, they will be extreme stressful which is why you need to rebuild the team."

I received them and replied. "I will sir."

"Good, you are dismissed."

I left his office with a strange feeling. Today was an awful day but I did learn something.

To be in Aurora Defense means to do things the hard way.

- Dinner Time, Three Hours Later.. -

So the four of us were in a Chinese restaurant, we were all eating our favorite Americanized food.

"So how was everyone's day?" Celina asked.

"It was great for me! Black Systems were giving away free hotdogs this morning and I ate like three. It was so awesome. But then my coworker started masterbating and came on the assembly line so I proceeded to punch his face. That was cool too." Salvus explained his day.

"I just visited the library to study." Fiora added her side. "I also was daydreaming about you know who all day and almost got in an accident. Which would have been bad. But at least I did manage to study."

This girl is starting to piss me off, does she see I don't have a fucking mark? I know I agreed to date her but damn FIND SOMEONE WITH A FUCKING MARK. Maybe I'm too hard on myself. I SHOULD be happy someone cares.

I stayed quiet and silently ate my food.

"Em you've been awfully quite." Celina looked to me.

"Eh cause my day is shit." I sighed.

"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't know." Celina backed off a bit.

"It's alright, it'll be alright tomorrow I hope." I shrugged.

I wonder if they'd be interested....?

"Well for me, I found a wicked good deal on this car. I belive its a 2007 Saturn Sky, it looks fast and it was like two thousand so of course I took it. So yeah I got a new ride today." Celina told us her day.

"Oo maybe you could race someone with that, if you knew anybody." Salvus suggested.

"I've been thinking about getting an old Corvette so maybe someday we can." I added.

"Yeah, I just know I'm going to look like the ultimate beach girl." She joked.

"Tomorrow I've got some work to get done on my car. It's an Accord and I need to get an oil change for it. I don't know what I'm going to do while it's getting it, I'm thinking about hitting up the old arcade next to it." Salvus remembered.

"Wait they still open?" Fiora asked. "I thought they closed."

"Nah, well I think they're half video game store now but they definitely not closed." Salvus explained.

We talk about some weird topics.
