- The Next Day -

What the hell happened yesterday?

I awoke with a painful headache, I raced to the medicine cabinet and popped in a medication. I wasn't in the mood for an all day headache.

I should probably call this whole thing off.

Yesterday what was happening was really bad, it was the worst I have been. Usually if I feel like what I did yesterday, I just bottled it up, like that time Salvus had a girlfriend that lasted a week.

But this time it was different, like I want revenge for my situation.

Most people called "Forever Alones" would just commit suicide but instead since I'm an emotional converter my dumbass just converted that sadness to rage.

And what I was doing yesterday was not fucking good.

"Damn it why is therapy so fucking expensive?!" I force sighed, angry at myself.

"I could probably afford it easily once I start at Aurora Defense."

I check my phone and I notice an email from Daniel Aurora.

Daniel Aurora himself.

"Oh shit!" I read it and run around and get some clean clothes on, shave and run out of the house.

I look at my truck and debate whenever driving there or using my abilities instead.

"Ah fuck my truck." I middle fingered it and decided to use my ability instead to shift into energy and arrive at energetic speeds.

I did not want to slouch at all.

I opened the office door and the receptionist wasn't there surprisingly, I knocked on his door and he invited me inside.

"Take this." He threw a black track jacket and jogging pants at me before I could I even enter it fully.

"Wait what? Hold on I-"

"There's drug trafficking in a nearby neighborhood, the governor claims they can't handle it so we are." He handed me a black bandana. "This will be your first mission, Alpha."

"Alpha?"

"That's your call name, get in the van and hurry. We don't have much off a team nor do we have time so I'll be driving you there. Don't fuck this up, now put it on."

The 50-60 year old took off his suit and put a white hooded jacket on him and sunglasses. It looked to be a disguise.

He lead me to a black van, I got in the cabin and began changing into my assigned outfit. I wrapped the bandana around my mouth and nose and tied it up.

He started the vehicle and floored it in the way to the neighborhood. I have had not ANY time to process any of this.

"We'll see if you really are a 9.3 ranger like you say you are." He floors on the gas.

I fell down at bit because the van was going too fast.

"Sorry about that." Daniel apologized. "I got an engine from a Porsche 918 Spyder fitted onto this thing."

Well that explains this guy's budget for everything.

I looked at myself and realized I looked emo as fuck, but I liked it.

We stopped and he looked at me sternly and said. "I'm sorry for this rush but you're going to have go out there, you're the lead for Aurora now so act like it."

I nodded and he dropped me off at this foreign neighborhood I have never seen before.

"See ya around kid." He handed me a communication device for my ear. "I'll be your scout, keep your ass safe out there." He drove the generic looking van away with the screaming German engine.

Oh shit, this is really happening. OK OK don't panic you've got this, you're a 9.3 you outrank 98% percent of the population.

I walk slowly and I notice this group of people literally selling drugs out in the open and I noticed people dead on the street, either from overdose or from fighting each other for one more dose.

I could already tell that this is a VERY neglected neighborhood.

"Hey, you!" One of the strange men noticed me. "You're not from around here aren't ya?"

"Nope." I responded, oddly I felt more confident when half my face is hidden.

He approached me and looked at me up and down. "You ain't a cop aren't ya?" He looked very defensive.

I mean they ARE selling drugs out in the open.

"Cause if you are, us four." He pointed to his three sales partners. "Our ranges are around 5.0 so if you fuck with us we'll fuck with you."

The police must be severely underpowered, I assumed they were weak but damn THIS weak?

"I'm not no damn cop." I shove him. "I'm with Aurora Defense."

I don't know what the hell came over me, I swear my insanity is eating me away.

"Aurora Defense?!" He laughed in my face. "What? That old man?! He gotten too old for this shit and so did his crew! Who the hell are you?! Some tough shit kid, well guess what we know the Aurora team retired so there's your tough kid story out the window!" He laughed. "You can't possibly be-"

"I'd rather you refer to me by my call sign Alpha rather than 'tough shit' if you would so please." I slashed an energy blade on his chest, he was caught off guard.

"Shit!" He swirled stones around him. "Boys this kid is trying to fuck with out business."

Soon his three buddies came up behind him with their abilities activated and showing signs of aggression.

"For your information," The crook said "Alpha is Daniel Aurora's call sign, not yours you phony wannabe!" He hurled boulders at me.

I shot energy throughout each of the stones and shattered them. "Maybe so but not anymore, it's mine now. Welcome to the revival of Aero Defensive my friend." I said so cunning like.

I swear I'm not like this normally, my mental state is causing me to want to fight everybody all of a sudden.

And I'm getting my fight.
