Chapter 31: But I Cannot Fail

I look so shaken. I couldn't believe what was even happening to me, however something twisted in my mind. How could this even be? After all these years of believing I was alone and it turned out I wasn't forever alone.............with this annoying girl.

This can't be true! Unless it is true or-

"Well...this is not how I imagined I'd find my soulmate." She blurted out, emotionally.

I felt like I was going to cry but I didn't allow myself to. I was sane now so I just wiped my face and sighed. "Shit I have to help the others! HOLY SHIT I ACTUALLY FUCKING HURT THEM!?"

I ran over to Daniel and I looked down at him, at his dying body. Wondering how I managed to do such a horror.

I quickly placed my hand on his arm and returned as much energy as I could to him. It didn't hurt me since I'm just basically an engine for energy.

Daniel slowly sat up and coughed. I looked at him and was about to say something but instead I just got up and left him.

I'm so sorry.

My teammates were in fact heavily wounded so I also infused the four with energy. I set up an ambulance to come get them so there was that.

I tried to levitate everything back together, to fix the damage. I was so ashamed at myself.

"Fi? Where's your boyfriend? I haven't seen him." I ask her while putting the debris back into the B.S. building.

"I think he ran off Em." She answered. "You must of scared the crap out of him."

"Yeah, I think so." I shook my head. "I always somehow do that."

The ambulance took the four away, I helped Daniel up and tried to help him walk.

"E-Emers-son. D-don't worry." He looked at me once he was stable. "I understand sometimes you have impulses. I'll sort it out with your team but I need you to get mental health. I don't think I ever told you what happened to my original team." He finished and dusted off his jacket. "I'll see you later boy."

"Daniel!" I stop him. "I'm so sorry."

"No need son, I'm used to enduring far worse things than just losing energy. I'll see you around." He put his hand in his pocket and walked away.

"You really fucked up big time." Fiora added.

"Damn it I always do stupid shit like this! Why am I like this." I sit down and put my head in my hands.

"Sometimes young people do really stupid things simply because they're young. Also hormones play a big role too." She rationalized. "Speaking of things, I've got to break up with my boyfriend now."

I get up hit my head against the wall. "Yeah because you're stuck with somebody like ME. At least he was sane."

"Well he also chickened out when I was in danger." She included. "So there's that."

My pocket had collapsed and my keys and wallet fell out. I must have worn them out fighting. I noticed when I heard a minuscule crash of the sound of flinging metal. "Well I have to get new pants too." I knelt down and picked them up.

"Em, you know since we are soulmates and all now um do you wanna kiss?" She asked rather strangely.

I looked at her confused. "I've almost killed five people, I destroyed this entire street, I hurt your boyfriend and almost hurt you and you want to KISS me?"
