Chapter 34: New Events Arise........

- The Next Day -

I had left the grocery store, holding several bags of food.

I go to my car and open the trunk.

Despite the small boot, I was able to fit all of my purchases inside. If this Camaro was used for a family, it wouldn't work out. But it's just me luckily.

I drive home and go inside to unload the groceries.

On the floor.

"AHHH!!! I FORGOT I DON'T HAVE A FRIDGE!!"I exclaim in frustration.

I look at my car, which was outside my window.

"AND I BOUGHT A CAMARO! I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT A PICKUP! HOW THE HELL AM I GOING TO BUY A NEW FRIDGE WITH THAT FUCKER!?"

Immediately I hear another car drive up.

I don't remember inviting visitors? I wonder who it is?

I take a good look at the car and I notice it was a small Audi car.

Audi? I wonder who drives that? Is it the realtor giving me last minute forms or something?

I hear a knock at the door, I crept towards the door and opened it.

"Hi Em!" Fiora beams while waving her hand.

"Oh thank goodness it's you." I sigh in relief. "Wait hold on how in the world do you have an AUDI!?"

"Uhhhh I dunno? Why do you have a Chevrolet? It's just a car Em calm down." She blew it off. "You boys and dumb cars."

I noticed in her arm an open box. The contents inside didn't look familiar.

"Can I come in?"

"Oh sure! Sorry-" I stepped aside. "Wait hold on, what's in that box."

"Oh this? This is just a box of small stuff of mine. I sold my place in Metropolis recently. I don't have anywhere I can stay so I thought maybe you didn't mind?" She explained.

Thank goodness I got an actual house.

"Oh sure. I don't mind." I smiled and shrugged.

"Aw thanks! You're a good boyfriend!" She placed it down. "I don't have much right now so you don't need to worry about space."

"I mean it makes sense. We both still have the word 'teen' in our age."

"You....don't have much stuff either." She noticed I had no furniture.

"Yeeeaahhh uummm I was kinda hoping you could help me with that?" I said. "My apartment was small so in turn I now have no furniture unfortunately."

"Oh alright. I could definitely help out with that, but you are going to need alot of decoration." She looked at my empty house.

"I also need a fridge......and my dumbass bought a sports car."

"Damn dude."

"Yeah. What I'm going to do is rent a pickup and get everything I need in about a week with the money I have left over. What's left of that I invest. Then I'm going to go ahead and start looking for a good job." I explained my plan.

"Sounds great!" She rooted. "I also have a question to ask you, if you don't mind of course."

"Sure, hit me up."

"OK well my um parents found out about our little mark moment and they want to meet you for dinner." She explained.

That's a pretty big deal! OK OK think, think about this rationally.

"Really? That's a big deal Fi, are you sure?"

"Unfortunately yes and I'm embarrassed to but I'm willing to if you are."

"I don't mind at all. It'll be alright, you don't need to worry."

- Two Days Later, Quattrostate Suburbs -

I pulled up my car to the property. I'm wearing a nice but casual outfit. ( If you're wondering, a flannel shirt and jeans. ) Fiora is next to me having a panic attack.

If she doesn't stop I'm going to have one too!

"Fi I promise it'll be OK, come on let's just go in." I assure her.

"But what if they judge you harshly and-"

"What's the worse they can do to me?" I lit up an energy flame in my hand.

"*sigh* You're right. Alright I'm ready."

She knocks on the door, an old man opens the door and notices her. "Fiora! It's so nice to see you!" He smiles.

"Hi daddy!" She hugs him.

"This is Emerson!" She gestures to me.

"Nice to meet you sir." I hold out my hand.

How to not embarrass yourself 101: Step 1, run as fast as you can away from the situation!

"Hm a polite boy, this the one you said was your mark mate or something?" He shook my hand. "Nice to meet you too."

"Come on inside you two." He led us inside.

"Hi Mom!" Fiora says to her mother. "

"Oh hi sweetie!" She hugs her. "Nice to see you! This is the Emerson I've heard huh?" She goes over to me and literally forces a hug on me. "You're a cute looking boy."

SOMEBODY HELP ME!

"I UHH nice to meet you too?"

"Let's go eat dinner Athena, I'm starving!" Mr. Romano tells his wife.

We all sit at the table while Mrs. Romano placed down a plate colorful salad and a bowl of warm gnocchi soup for everyone.

"So Fiora honey, I heard you moved from Metropolis to Raventown. Was the move OK?" Mrs. Romano asked.

"Don't worry mom it was alright. Emerson here helped me." She looked to me.

WHY ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME?! CAN'T YOU SEE I'M HAVING A PANIC ATTACK!?

"Really? I need to know, how was you two's first kiss together?" She asked, rather strangely.

OK that's a really strange and stupid question to ask.

I glanced over to her father, who I noticed was quietly observing me. Which I deemed as normal, fathers of daughters are usually extra cautious. Unfortunately for him, the universe decided she's stuck with me. Which wasn't my choice but a welcome one.

"We uuhhh." Fiora scratched her hair. "We haven't kissed yet."

"Hm, that's alright." She smiled. "Well I want to know how you two met and how you two found out you were soulmates!"

"One thing first though." Mr. Romano said.

"Yes Giovanni?"

"I want to know this boy's power" He smiled rather menacingly.

I look over to him. "Energy Manipulation, range 9.9" I had a smug moment.

I spun energy orbs around the table in a dance like manner, creating a small show.

I then disintegrated them into nothingness.

"Not bad." He replied rather amazed. "Not bad at all."  He said as he looked to his wife.

Fiora leaned over to me and whispered. "He himself is an 8.3 in Earth Manipulation, so you might want to be careful."

I'll keep an eye but Daniel was a 9.5 and I managed to pin him down so if anything happens I'll most likely be OK.
